On episode 5 of After Dark with Kayise we talk Marriage and the Law. We chat to Sihle Seleke who shares her story of being widowed twice and how that affected her relationship with her in-laws and her healing journey thereof. We also speak to Tebello Motshwane, attorney and founder of Sister-in-Law about the understanding of martial regimes and the importance of one empowering themselves in relationships or the legal authority one holds should a spouse die.

The greatest gift of life is being desired. In fact life itself is our greatest desire. To give and live it outstandingly. It is a need that we can all attest to. Having children presents one of the many instances that nurture the will to be more than just ourselves. However for many, it isn't as easy as it may seem. We cannot deny that the journey to parenthood is one that is personal to each one of us and by having these conversations we can all learn to be more sensitive, understanding and knowledgeable.  

 In this episode of AFTER DARK with Kayise I speak to Khumo Ngwenya who is an angel mom who lost her baby at 16 weeks of pregnancy. She shares her journey of loss, recovery and healing. I am also joined by Pastor Jerry Zwane and Karabo Zwane, founders of Hannah You Are Not Alone as they too share their journey and triumph after being declared infertile.

 This is a must-watch for anyone and everyone who has had or considering to have children or anyone whose ever asked somebody when they are planning on having children.

There has been an ongoing war against women and children for decades. We have cried, marched, screamed and done just about anything we can but it seems the gender based violence is not get any better. It is very clear that it is not up to the woman to change but imperative for the men to speak up, take responsibility and help each other change and stop gender based violence.  

It is for this very reason that in this episode of AFTER DARK I speak to Tumelo Mabena, a rehabilitated woman abuser turned gender based violence activist. The thought to even have the conversation was burdening and fearful but so necessary. As you watch this I hope it affords you an opportunity to heal and a better understanding of what goes on in the mind of an abuser, the role of society and most importantly of men in leading that change. It needs to stop and it can because enough is enough!  

This conversation will hurt and it will leave many feeling broken but it is out of your broken pieces that I hope you be moulded back to peace.   

Fear will not and cannot hold us back from healing. We will endeavour to cast out the darkness, for it can only be light that will follow.

Grief is a journey that we all at some point in our lives will travel and  experience. However it may come, it's never easy to deal with, but, is not impossible. In this episode of AFTER DARK with Kayise, we unpack the journey to surviving grief.  

I have a deep conversation with Penny Mkhize, an HR specialist who survived tragedy and grief and has  turned it into an opportunity to help others with their troubles in the workplace. I also talk to Clinical Psychologist, Lwanele Khasu, who provides psychological insight and advise on how to survive grief.

On 16 June 2019 my husband and I were involved in a horrific car accident that left us severely injured. After a week in hospital, he succumbed to his injuries and passed away. I then became a widow at the age of 28. In this episode, on the 1-year anniversary of his death, I share my grief and healing journey.
