Our Luvva Cover, this week, features an absolutely incredible "radical, sultry" transformation of a Ritchie Valens 50's Rock and Roll standard by a French chanteuse. It's the latest in a series of similarly radical covers by Marianne Dissard. She has her own unique 'desert noir' image and is heavily influenced by the ancient tradition of the '' carried forward in modern times by songwriters and singers like Jacques Brel, Georges Brassens and Émilie Simon. It is a remarkable performance of an iconic song.

In December, it was the 40th anniversary of the shooting of John Lennon. He was 40 at the time of his death. GEMS have done a rework of his best known solo album, Imagine, and we are playing one of the tracks from that.
