This week we have one of Manchester’s icons on the ATA airwaves.

Artist, event promoter, DJ, and all-round creative, kaoti, sat down on the sofa with us to discuss their latest album (to speak of wasps to scar their stings), their journey with mental health, and the true purpose of creating art.

kaoti is known for creating music that fits outside of the box. Using their creative outlets to express their feelings in the most pure and vulnerable form, showing others that they can be capable to feelings too.

Their personality and perception on creative outlets is what had us hooked from start to the end of this episode. We suggest anyone, whether creative or not, should really take in the messages of this episode.

This week, Saoirse Marie sat down with singer/songwriter Lauren Jean. At the age of 17, Lauren Jean had a stroke while on holiday with family and was told she only had a week to live and would never be able to sing again.

Having defied all those odds, this life-changing experience has created such drive and motivation for Lauren Jean that has shaped her into the incredible person and artist she is today.

In this conversation, Lauren Jean discusses how the accident changed her, characteristics of a great songwriter, and how she has built an incredible network on her music journey.

Multi-award winning Ghanaian Reggae and AfroDancehall artist, Stonebwoy joined us on After The Applause this week.

Stonebwoy is considered to be one of the most influential artists and leading voices in reggae, dancehall, and Afropop global communities. He came to Manchester the other week to host a listening party for his 8th upcoming album, Torcher 2.
