  • EP 12: Interview With Retired National Football League and Canadian Football League Player Pat Woodcock
https://atgridiron.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/ATG-Pat.png ()Pat had a great career playing 8 years as a wide reciever in the NFL and CFL.  He had brief stints with the New York Giants and Washington Redskins  but played the bulk of his career in the CFL with the Montreal Alouettes.  He also played for his hometown Ottawa Renegades and for the Edmonton Eskimos and Hamilton Tiger-Cats.  He grew up a football fan and started at a young age.  Both his parents loved football and also even played touch football (yes his mother too!)  They were huge Ottawa fans and went to games.  However he was actually a Winnipeg Blue Bombers fan growing up.  He did play other sports growing up, with basketball being his best for a while, but he excelled at football.  He was recruited by some big schools including the University of Michigan Wolverines, which happened to be his favourite as a kid.  However Syracuse University won him over with their proximity to home and the potential to play quickly.  He did get to play quickly as he played quite a lot his redshirt freshman and sophomore seasons.  He started in his last two year there and was a team captain his senior year.  Going undrafted in the NFL draft, he was signed by the Giants as a free agent.  Due to some injuries in training camp, he was able to shine with the starters and earned a spot on the team.  It was a trill for his family to be there to see him in his first game as a pro athlete in the NFL.  He then went to Montreal and the next year was playing in a Grey Cup.  He was outstanding in that game and had the longest (has since been broken) play in Grey Cup History.  After the Alouettes, he got to play for his hometown team which was something he always had thoughts of doing.  Near the end of his career he took more interest in training and all that’s involved in preparing your body for sports.  That lead to him starting his company, Elite Performance Academy, which is a training program for all sports.  He also spent time as the strength and conditioning coach for the Red Blacks in 2016 when they won the Grey Cup.  He now has online programs that are available to everyone that want to improve their health.  For more intormation check out the link to his website below as well as the links to his social media.website: http://www.eliteperformanceacademy.ca/team-view/pat-woodcock/ (www.eliteperformanceacademy.ca/pat-woodcock/)Twitter: https://twitter.com/EliteCoach16?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Eauthor (www.twitter.com/EliteCoach16)Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/elitecoach/?hl=en (www.instagram.com/elitecoach/?hl=en)Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/ElitePerformanceAcademy/?eid=ARAz4FaXA1eHgBZ30qfApWHTmdAalyNo3yp4nfJpcX9-GtDXCGKW-X2W2DfN9fbEOJ_FzElUR3NubD4T&timeline_context_item_type=intro_card_work&timeline_context_item_source=516960927&fref=tag (www.facebook.com/ElitePerformanceAcademy)Resourceshttps://www.atgridiron.com (www.atgridiron.com)http://www.symfonies.ca (www.symfonies.ca)https://www.amazon.com/Audible-Free-Trial-Digital-Membership/dp/B00NB86OYE/?ref_=assoc_tag_ph_1485906643682&_encoding=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&linkCode=pf4&tag=gridiron-20&linkId=66d68bff364d9d0d09064e459c476170 (www.audible.com)

  • EP 10: Interview With Retired National Football League and Canadian Football League Player Belton Johnson
https://atgridiron.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/ATG-Belton.png ()Belton had a long sucessful career playing 10 years professionally.  It began with 3 years playing for the Cincinnati Bengals in the NFL and ended with him playing another 7 years in the CFL mostly with the Saskatchewan Roughriders and Hamilton Tiger-Cats.  He started out at a young age, and always had a love for football.  He and his brother would always play and had dreams and aspirations of playing professional football.  Having a hard time deciding where to attend college he missed signing day and had to walk-on as a freshman.  The University of Mississippi, Ole Miss as its commonly known, was where he eventually decided to go.  That also allowed him to play with his brother who also went to Ole Miss.  They were able to play side by side on the offensive line as both were starters for the team!  As an undrafted free agent he had to fight and claw his way onto the roster of the Bengals which he did.  After his time ended with them, he made his way up to Canada to play in the CFL.  Having no knowledge of the CFL or Canada even, he had to look on a map to see where he was headed!  He had a brief stop in BC with the Lions before heading to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.  Most of his time in the CFL was spent with the Saskatchewan Roughriders, who have the most passionate fan base in the league.  He ended his career with the Edmonton Eskimos.  Having spent most of his off-seasons in Saskatchewan, he developed relationships off the field which led to him working with Saskatchewan Government Insurance.  He is still working with them and has adopted Canada as his home with his family.  He is also the VP of the Roughriders Alumni Association.  To connect with Belton, go to the links below for his social media accounts.Twitter: https://twitter.com/bjizzle56 (www.twitter.com/bjizzle56)Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/belton.johnson.9 (www.facebook.com/belton.johnson.9)LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/beltonjohnson/ (www.linkedin.com/in/beltonjohnson/)Resourceshttps://www.atgridiron.com (www.atgridiron.com)http://www.symfonies.ca (www.symfonies.ca)https://www.amazon.com/Audible-Free-Trial-Digital-Membership/dp/B00NB86OYE/?ref_=assoc_tag_ph_1485906643682&_encoding=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&linkCode=pf4&tag=gridiron-20&linkId=66d68bff364d9d0d09064e459c476170 (www.audible.com)
