  • The Cape Town Stadium now goes by the name "The DHL Stadium”.

    Cape Town – Cape Town Stadium, was renamed again to DHL Stadium after signing a multi-year naming rights partnership with DHL Express.
    Cape Town Stadium was originally known as Green Point Stadium before it was changed. The stadium has already had its new name since June 1, 2021 and was used during the Lions Tour, but due to Covid-19 no official announcement has been made.
    Branding of the stadium is expected to begin shortly. DHL Express today announced its partnership with Cape Town Stadium.
    The Stadium's Commercial Manager, Gina Woodburn, will discuss the rename decision and execution.

  • President Cyril Ramaphosa authorises release of SIU investigation into Digital Vibes matter

    Former Health Minister, Dr Zweli Mkhize was dishonest when he claimed that the irregular R150 million Digital Vibes contract did not benefit his family wealth. 
    The corruption was revealed amongst the fraudulent actions made public by President Cyril Ramaphosa's authorisation of the publication of the final report of the Special Investigating Unit into the National Department of Health’s award of a National Health Insurance media campaign and subsequent COVID-19 communications to Digital Vibes. 
      The decision was made in the interest of fairness and in terms of the Promotion of Access to Information Act (PAIA), following a number of PAIA applications by persons and parties who wished to have sight of the report.

  • A Peaceful March of 6000 Nazareth Baptist Church to support Shembe; a contravention of COVID protocols

    Today a convener of Nazareth Baptist Church Ebuhleni faction march has been arrested for the contravention of the Disaster Management Act.
    Over 6000 members of the Nazareth Baptist Church Ebuhleni faction breached Covid-19 protocols by congregating in their thousands to bring the Durban CBD to a standstill on Tuesday.  The peaceful march was conducted in order to show support for Mduduzi Shembe.
      There are strong divisions in the church after a succession battle between Mduduzi "Unyazi Lwezulu" Shembe and his late uncle Vela Shembe, who is aligned to the Thembezinhle faction.
      In 2016, the KwaZulu-Natal High Court in Durban declared Vela the legitimate successor to late spiritual leader Vimbeni Shembe
