This week we're talking to Jennifer Wehner: top 1% producer in Arizona with eXp Realty. Jennifer got started in real estate in 2003, and was already a top producer in her brokerage before the market tumbled. After weathering some incredible storms during that recession, Jennifer has learned how to both seek and provide valuable mentorship while continuing to dedicate herself to her work and family. As a Dave Ramsey-endorsed local provider, Jennifer and her team take the business of real estate seriously, achieving high prices in less time for their sellers, and prospecting for both on- and off-market homes for their buyers.
This week we're talking to Stephen Polando: one of the co-founders of State Forty Eight. Along with his brother Nicholas and lifelong friend Michael Spangenberg, Stephen grew up in Chandler (even going to high school with our own Josh Norris). While working in the hospitality industry, Stephen found inspiration in a company creating local products in Detroit, and thought it would be cool to celebrate Arizona in a similar way. With the outstanding customer service skills of that hospitality background, a shared passion for Arizona at the community level, and the good advice of a hotel customer, Nicholas and his partners launched their company with just a hundred shirts back in 2013. Today, they foster community and celebrate Arizona through collaborations with local organizations, major sports franchises, and hometown celebs. Tune in to hear some pretty inspiring words!
This week we're talking to Roland Sarria: the founder of Rage in the Cage. Roland came to the US from Cuba in 1967, played college football, and transitioned to a career in Mixed Martial Arts in the nineties. From training with the Gracies to battling with Arizona's legislature to legalize the sport of MMA fighting, to becoming Arizona's first licenses promoter, Roland has become known as one of the godfathers of the sport. As an untrained, inexperienced promoter, Roland learned to be a master of his craft because of his willingness to learn the business from the ground up.
