Your circumstances may be hard… You might be dealing with sickness, financial stress, or drama related to work politics. Let’s be honest—the best plan is always to avoid sin. But we’re human, and we mess up. So, what do we do when that happens? We shouldn’t hide it or pretend it didn’t happen. We need to come to God honestly and admit where we went wrong. The good news is that the Bible tells us God is faithful to forgive when we’re open with Him and confess our sins. Today, Pastor Terry explains that no matter how bad you think your sin is, God is ready to forgive—but it starts with coming to Him sincerely and owning it.

What does it mean to truly confess the wrong things we have done? The Bible is full of people who acknowledge that they sinned, but didn’t really mean it. Today, Pastor Terry discusses various characters from the Bible, such as Pharaoh, who admit to being wrong, but aren’t truly sorry because they fail to change their behavior. They go back to their old ways. True confession involves a transformation of what you do. Does your confession result in a change of behavior? Or do you go back to your old habits? 

When we say we’re committed to the Lord, what does that really mean? Are we willing to give up everything—or just the parts that are easy? For most of us, the hardest things to let go of are our time and our money. It’s one thing to give up certain habits, like the music we listen to, but it’s another thing to surrender what we value most. Today, Pastor Terry challenges you to ask yourself: Am I willing to give God all of my time? All of my money? Or am I only offering up the things that don’t really cost me much?

Have you ever heard of the phrase, “a fair-weather fan”? It’s someone who only roots for a team when the team is doing well. It’s tempting to be a fair-weather fan in your Christian faith. When believing in Jesus is comfortable and convenient, you’re all in. However, other voices can creep in and whisper to you, urging you to make compromises. Are you all in for Jesus? Today, Pastor Terry emphasizes the importance of being one hundred percent committed to trusting Jesus. 

What should we do when we find ourselves unable to move forward? Today, Pastor Terry encourages us to rely solely on Jesus for real answers. Often, we turn to self-help programs or quick fixes, but the only true and lasting solution is found in the gospel of Christ. Self-help programs can lead us through a complicated maze of steps that ultimately result in dead ends. Just as God led the Israelites out of their bondage in Egypt, He can provide us with permanent solutions through Christ.

When do you communicate with God? Is your only interaction with Him during moments of worship or times of thanksgiving? In today’s message, Pastor Terry reminds us that Moses had a close relationship with God and included his complaints in his prayers. God is aware of our feelings and thoughts. Our communication with Him should also encompass our doubts and disappointments. We can talk to God at any time; every day can be an opportunity for communication and fellowship with Him.

We often focus on our perceived lack of ability and talents, which can lead to discouragement in pursuing the plans God has for us. Today, Pastor Terry reminds us of Moses and the excuses he made when speaking to God. However, God empowered Moses to fulfill the tasks He had planned for him. God values our availability more than our ability. What He seeks is our willingness to be obedient rather than our greatness. Our feelings of inadequacy can lead to greater dependence on Him.

Do you ever feel inadequate when it comes to fulfilling God’s purpose? Today, Pastor Terry highlights the gifts that God has bestowed upon us within the church. God equips His believers with every talent and ability necessary to share the gospel. It is a beautiful manifestation of the Holy Spirit within the church to witness the diverse gifts given to individuals within the body of Christ. Just as God empowered Moses for the task He assigned to him, He equips believers today to accomplish His mission.

If you’ve ever cooked, then you may know, there are things that you can substitute in your recipes. If a recipe calls for a lemon, you may be able to substitute a lime! In today’s message, Pastor Terry says God and Jesus are one. There is no substitute! They’re the same person. Jesus has all the power of God, and yet He chose to die on the cross for your sins! He loves you and sacrificed Himself even though He knew the pain He was going to go through. Now you can stand confident and have freedom in Him!
