Our culture has its definitions of who is living the “great life”. To some, it’s the wealthiest people, and to others, it’s the most famous. There are plenty of advertisers who will tell you how their product will make you truly happy and satisfied. But, as Pastor Terry reminds us today, success on earth will never bring the abundant life that God created us to live. When you are living your life in the love of Christ, seeking His will, and centering your worth on Him, you will experience God’s best.  

How many people seek God – when they are in a time of physical need? It may be a sickness or a financial setback. Possibly a problem in the family, or at the workplace. At those times, many people think of calling upon God for help. As Pastor Terry shares today, the same thing happened during Jesus’s earthly ministry. People often came for their physical needs, not their spiritual needs. Of course, you should come to Jesus for all of your needs. Just be sure that your spiritual needs are at the forefront.

There are a lot of times in our lives when we don’t know what to do. Especially when it comes to serving God, it can often seem that we just don’t have the resources, or the skill, to pull it off. But as Pastor Terry reminds us today, even when we don’t know what to do, Jesus already knows. So, when you come to those times when you feel clueless, look more closely to Jesus. He has put you in those places to test you – to see where you will turn. His tests are always created to bring you closer to Him. 

It’s great to have 20/20 eyesight in the natural world. But what about spiritual eyesight to see into the miraculous? Today, Pastor Terry encourages you to consider the ways in which God is calling you to more. More of Him, more sight, more Scripture buried deep in your heart. God doesn’t want you to just see what’s going on within this earthly realm. He also wants you to see and take note of what’s going on in the Kingdom. Ask the Lord to help you to be more in tune with the work He’s doing daily!

Receiving the gift of eternal life doesn’t have to be hard! Pastor Terry shares in today’s message that salvation is easy. Simply believe in Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior. Scripture says that if you believe in your heart and confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, you will be saved. Pastor Terry explains that Jesus has fulfilled the Law. When you place your trust in Him, He makes you righteous. No one could ever perfectly keep God’s commands, that’s why Jesus came!

There is power in sharing your testimony! In today’s message from Pastor Terry, he explains that testimony is simply sharing with others the work that God has done in your life. It’s re-counting all the ways God has been faithful and good in your life. Pastor Terry shares that often it’s the sharing of your faith that leads someone else to faith. Don’t be afraid to share with others how you were led to faith in Jesus. And through having that faith in Jesus, the difference that He’s made in your life. 

Faith in the Lord makes you free! As you listen to today’s message from Pastor Terry, he shares with you the beautiful truth that pursuing and actively walking out your faith in Jesus extends liberty. You’re not bound to the chains and guilt that religion can bring. No, you are free by your belief in Jesus as your Savior. Pastor Terry explains that a relationship with Jesus brings light, life, and freedom! Jesus said in His Scriptures that His yolk is easy and His burden is light. He wants you to live fruitfully!

Do you really know God – the God revealed in Scripture? There are many who claim to know Him but have fashioned a god to their own liking – a god who embraces their sin and selfishness instead of trying to restore them to their original, perfect design. As Pastor Terry will warn in today’s message, this is why we must rely on the Bible and get to know what it says about God; It’s essential for recognizing when false gods are put before us or misleading doctrine tries to implant in our hearts.

God thought up and created this world we live in just by uttering the words. We’re living in His universe. Everything that is, exists because of Him. Yet, as humans, we’ve been deceived into thinking that our reason and our desires are more important than God’s. As Pastor Terry continues our study of the book of John, we’ll be reminded of God’s sovereignty and our need to submit to it. Not in an effort to earn His favor or love – but in gratitude for the love and grace He’s already extended to us.

When you allow complacency to take hold in your Christian journey, it’s easy to only do the bare minimum… Go to church most Sunday mornings and avoid certain activities that disagree with your convictions – at least most of the time. As Pastor Terry will challenge us in today’s message, following Jesus can be so much more than that. It can be a life of purpose as you take His message of hope and peace to the broken world all around you, letting the change He’s made in you light up the darkness.
