Jesus didn't save us just so we could go to heaven. In Christ, we have been saved from death, but we have also been saved _for_ something.

Over the next weeks, I want to look at the Lord's prayer, its power, its purpose and why it is Jesus gave us these words when His disciples asked him: "Teach us to pray."

The unity of the body being active in its ministry will lead to spiritual maturity. That, when the body is functioning together and rightly, will produce healthy well discipled Christians who in turn raise up healthy well discipled Christians.

In any challenge we face, God always has just what we will need, waiting right in the midst of us. Learning to live together as a community, especially in transitions can prove to be unnerving sometimes, but is essential for growth and maturity.

Why the tithe is still our duty to the Lord - in faith and obedience. Being under grace and not the Law doesn't free us from God's commands, rather grace frees us for God's commands.

Baptism is born out of the long history and story of God's activity in and through his people. As with all Christian acts it is one of obedience, done in faith by a believer.

The importance of knowing why we do what we do as the body of Christ is as vital as that we do what we do. Communion, or the Lord's supper, is deeply symbolic and a necessary remembrance for us.

Our peace has been secured in Christ. Praise and glory are born out of this great assurance regardless of what may be ahead for us.
