It's a very strange time here in April 2020. As small business owners, both myself and Chris are adapting to the changes forced upon everyone by the Coronavirus. We're both able to work from home and keep our incomes, but many companies have seen their entire business wiped out overnight. We wanted to chat about what brands can do to stay positive and to survive during the pandemic.

Looking back on 2019 we've both had a good year. I've had a lot of change with the podcasting, repositioning my business and topping off the year heading to the US for a couple of weeks. Next year is looking to be equally as interesting with Chris looking to niche down on his service offering and I'm looking to expand my business.
Thanks for sticking with us this year! More to come in 2020 🚀

Spending money on your business can be intimidating, especially when you're just starting out and have to pay the bills (no more monthly paycheck). Chris discusses what his biggest investment has been into his business and what is worth spending money on and James ponders his new project idea. As we're just back from INBOUND we have a brief chat about our favourite sessions and why.

I am the founder of Striqo, a podcasting and video agency, working on it as a side-hustle alongside my full-time job. Chris Higgins is the founder of Electric Monk, a HubSpot technical consultancy, working on it full-time.
We both have different goals as to where we want to take our agencies. I'd like to have a 10-15 person team running £1-2m in revenue, whereas Chris is looking to keep his agency small with no more than 2-3 people in the long term. That doesn't mean we both aren't looking to grow in some way or another.
We discuss the stories behind why we started our respective agencies and what it will take to grow in these early stages. The next episodes will be like therapy for me while I speak to Chris to try and learn what it takes to run an Agency Startup.

What should you do when you get in a rut, you're unmotivated and don't want to do any work? Well, this happened to me this week and Chris and I talked through what to do when that happens. We also discussed why customer experience is so important, Chris needs to buy a new chair and why you should always pay freelancers on time.
