Agony Shorthand

Nothing more motivating on a Wednesday evening for me than a night spent dragging, dropping & pontificating in the course of throwing together a 78th episode of DYNAMITE HEMORRHAGE RADIO, our irregular but usually fortnightly phony podcast of sub-underground rocknroll music from the past five decades. There IS some new stuff this time - from BEATNIKS and GOOD THROB - plus reissues from THE WEAD, GARBAGE AND THE FLOWERS, THE SCIENTISTS and others - but mostly a bunch of library material (like NAKED SPOTS DANCE, pictured), and a few relatively new things like the lovely WEYES BLOOD track that closes out the show. Most of it's pretty aggro and gnarly. I think you're going to like it. Art for spastics. A great name to describe this 80-minute programme if it hadn't already been taken by another, better disc jockey. DYNAMITE HEMORRHAGE RADIO #77 features that song (by God And The State) and many, many more - including new stuff from BEATNIKS, GØGGS, THE GARBAGE AND THE FLOWERS, TERRY, WITCHING WAVES, RATTLE and LEATHER TOWEL....and then there's the stuff in between, from the likes of XYX (pictured), V-3, CHEATER SLICKS, KIM FOWLEY, CLAY ALLISON, SCRITTI POLITTI, PIP PROUD and many other heavyweights. DYNAMITE HEMORRHAGE #76 lands more than a few haymakers in 65 minutes of raw, feral, sub-underground rocknroll music from the last five decades. It's full of new stuff from the likes of CUTSS, PRIMETIME, DAN MELCHIOR, WOODBOT, LEATHER TOWEL, HONEY RADAR, DOCTOR NOD, BURNT ENVELOPE, SPRAY PAINT, USELESS EATERS, UNITY and many others - plus reissues from MIKE REP & THE QUOTAS, VIVIEN GOLDMAN, THE SAXONS and ANGRY ANGLES.

I also took a trip downstairs into our vast mp3 library and pulled up material from THE BRENTWOODS, THE PORTAGE, HUSKER DU and THE MEAT PUPPETS. In 76 tries, it may just be the phony rocknroll radio show we've been shooting for all of this time.

After our detour into dub with the recent Hemorrhage In Dub #1 podcast, let's get back to the tried and the true, whatever that is. This time we'll be debuting new stuff from PRIMETIME, USELESS EATERS, SPRAY PAINT, CONDITIONER, FRAU, HONEY RADAR and others - as well as great reissue from THE TWINKEYZ and ANGRY ANGLES.I've also got a set of ghostly folk music that mirrors the SIBYLLE BAIER interview & feature in Dynamite Hemorrhage #3 fanzine, with phenomenal music from ALLYSEN CALLERY, MAXINE FUNKE, JULIE BYRNE, MYRIAM GENDRON and JOANNE ROBERTSON to boot. And some late 80s Scottish pop! Buckle up.Track listing:PRIMETIME - PervertCONDITIONER - Stuck in the New TeensTELEVISION PERSONALITIES - 14th FloorUNIT 4 - ActFRAU - Safety InstructionsANGRY ANGLES - Can't Take It AnymoreSPRAY PAINT - Country ThumbsUSELESS EATERS - Moist CutsLITHICS - Thing In Your EyeKONTROLA W - Bossa NovaTHE DOOR AND THE WINDOW - DadsHONEY RADAR - Kiss The Peppermint PresidentWILDERNESS CHILDREN - On The West CoastTHE VULTURES - You're Not ScaredHEAVEN'S GATE - Amanda BerryAMOEBAS IN CHAOS - Atomic BongosSIBYLLE BAIER - ForgettMAXINE FUNKE - MerryJULIE BYRNE - Prism SongALLYSEN CALLERY - Gentle is the AngelMYRIAM GENDRON - The Last QuestionJOANNE ROBERTSON - Black Moon DaysTHE TWINKEYZ - 1000 Reasons
