Agony Shorthand

Another edition in a series of podcasts in which the host plays music, talks (too much?), cries, shares stories, insults music he doesn't like and generally gazes at his navel - figuratively, of course. It's all in good fun, ladies and gentlemen, and that's maybe why the kids keep coming back - that and the amazingly righteous selection of sub-underground rocknroll from the last fifty years.Track listing:BUCK BILOXI AND THE FUCKS - I'm A GeniusTHEE OH SEES - DropJULY - My Clown999999999 - White DevilsMAD MIKE & THE MANIACS - The HunchICKY BOYFRIENDS - MuffinCOLD BEAT - MirrorTRICK MAMMOTH - FloristryPANG - StockpileTHE NIGHTS AND DAYS - Lookin'CHAPTER 24 - SpindleINFLATABLE BOY CLAMS - I'm SorryTHE KILLJOYS - Johnny Won't Get To HeavenTHE GERMS - No GodRHINO 39 - Xerox/No CompromiseSIN 34 - Forgive and ForgetNIP DRIVERS - EYOBCRASS - Do They Owe Us A Living?X - Hey YouSLEAFORD MODS - Black MondaySCRITTI POLITTI - Bibbly-O-TekLITTLE CLAW - Brackish StratumTHE MILKY WAYS - (Can't Seem To Find) My Way Back Home

Every other week I seek to give unto the people a 60/90-minute streaming/downloadable pretend radio show, recorded on my laptop at the back of my house. This happens to be one of those fortnights. DYNAMITE HEMORRHAGE RADIO #35 is 85 minutes of new underground & independent noise, garage pop & obscurities from the last five decades. This show's marked itself as having a particularly annoying string of commentary from the know-it-all mushmouth host, who speaks before he thinks, flubs discographical information and can't even get the name of the current computer virus wreaking havoc on the internet correct. At least the music is gnarly. New stuff this time from Pang, Sex Tide, Girl One and the Grease Guns, The Spies, Nun, Trick Mammoth, Animals & Men, Witching Waves and Slum of Legs is pockmarked by older stuff from the likes of Simple Saucer, The Puddle, Howard Werth, the Meat Puppets, Pussy Galore and Blast Off Country Style. See what you think by subscribing to the show (and getting some of the older episodes) here on iTunes.Track listing:SUBTLE TURNHIPS - Can CanPUNCTURE - Mucky PupSEX TIDE - Boarded UpFREE KITTEN - John Stark's BlueINTERNATIONAL STRIKE FORCE - Invasion of the Boyscout ClubhousePUSSY GALORE - White PeopleMEAT PUPPETS - Teenager(s)TRICK MAMMOTH - Week EndIRREPARABLES - Release The HoundsTHE SPIES - Collided and CollectedTHE PUDDLE - LacksydaisicalSIMPLY SAUCER - Here Comes The Cyborgs, Pt. If you're paying attention even a little bit, there really still is just too much great rocknroll music pouring out of basements and dark clubs worldwide to stuff into a 60-minute phony radio show every two weeks - yet I do try. The list of things I wanted to play is longer than the list of things I played, but I guess that's what happens when you shoehorn in a nine-minute, feedback-laden track off of a Velvet Underground bootleg - and expect people to listen. You'll listen, won't you?DYNAMITE HEMORRHAGE RADIO #34 has got some absolute gnarl from modern bands like SEX TIDE (new track!), VELO, THE FIREWORKS and THE IN OUT. Would you believe DEATH OF SAMANTHA and ANIMALS & MEN are still with us, and have first-rate new recordings being played here? How about some brand new guitar bending from the misanthropic ALVARIUS B? Or some perfect new pop from Dunedin, New Zealand's TRICK MAMMOTH?I even headed into the library for "deep cuts" from The Weirdos, Salvation Army, Spider and the Webs, Division Four and more. Listen up and maybe give it nice plug in iTunes, hows about?Track listing: ANIMALS AND MEN - Easy RidingSEX TIDE - I Want To DieTHE LA DE DAs - How Is The Air Up There?SALVATION ARMY - She Turns To FlowersFLESH EATERS - Agony ShorthandTHE WEIRDOS - Scream Baby Scream (1977 demo)THE FIREWORKS - Getting Nowhere FastDEATH OF SAMANTHA - AmphetamineCOACHWHIPS - Body and BrainsDIVISION FOUR - Doctor's WifeSPIDER AND THE WEBS - Bacon Achin'VELO - OutTRICK MAMMOTH - Delphine (With a Purpose)BELLE & SEBASTIAN - Lazy Line Painter JaneTHE VELVET UNDERGROUND - Run Run Run (live 1969, Hilltop Pop Festival)ALVARIUS B - Yeah Well, Oyster ShellsGIBSON BROS - Broke Down EngineTHE IN OUT - The Stupidity
