In this episode, Matt Hrusc (LifeVersity) hosts teacher Mariel Jurriens (Rotterdam School of Management) and student Yorrick Bronsgeest (who studies at Erasmus School of Social and Bahavioural Sciences and Erasmus School of Philosophy), who have a lively discussion about the use of GenAI within the university environment. Both equipped with strong opinions and a healthy dose of humour, Yorrick and Mariel use memes and philosophy references to tackle a topic they don't naturally agree on.
Some of the questions that come up are: How will AI change students' writing, and is that change negative? And, what becomes of learning when AI is omnipresent in the university environment?
Both guests are passionate readers and writers, but they have different stances on AI. Where one is open to exploring its possibilities and enjoying its benefits, the other is more sceptical.
