No fixed formula exists for AI budgets. Our advice: run a pilot of one to three months, measure the cost, and forecast from your own data.
In this second episode of AI Pulse by Cegeka, host Marjolijn talks to Vincent from our product management team, who works with customers on modern work, about what AI actually costs and how to plan for it in your 2027 budget. She opens with the Uber case, where AI spend ran through the budget within months.
Two cost models now sit in the same budget: a fixed fee per user, and consumption that depends on the instruction, the context and the model people choose. Vincent explains how to plan for both, from a light task like a meeting summary to advanced processes in a department. He also covers how to show a CFO that the investment is worth it, what happens to the hours AI frees up, and who owns the cost when finance, IT, HR and the business all have a stake.
Budget rounds for 2027 are underway. If you already use Copilot or Cowork, you get a way to measure what they cost. If you are still deciding, you get a starting point for the numbers.

Most organizations don't lack AI ideas. What we see is that they lack a way to know which ideas are worth funding, resourcing, and building. In this first episode of AI Pulse by Cegeka, host Marjolijn talks to Kenneth about why so many AI initiatives stall, and what it actually takes to turn an AI ambition into something concrete.
They dig into why starting with the technology instead of the business problem so often leads nowhere; how a short, focused sprint of business and tech working side by side can validate (or kill) an idea in days instead of months; and why the business case, not the prototype, is what actually gets an idea funded. They also talk through what "success" really looks like (hint: a validated "no" can be just as valuable as a "yes"), and what it takes to carry a good idea from proof of concept into real, adopted change.
Whether you're sitting on an AI idea you're not sure how to move forward with or trying to separate the promising ones from the noise, this conversation gives you a practical way to think about it.

Each month, host Marjolijn Beckers brings together Cegeka experts for an honest, practical conversation on a specific AI topic: from use cases and governance to platforms, productivity and process transformation. No hype. No theory. Just honest talk from the people building it.
