To borrow a phrase, the dragon has two tongues. In this special edition of the school’s podcast to celebrate Ysgol Llanhari turning 50 we ask three of our current pupils as they complete their journey at the school following their A-level exams about the value of their Welsh medium education.
We also hear of their parents' early fears, their support and their joy as they witnessed them develop and enjoy the variety of sport, culture and opportunities that a Welsh medium education encourages.
Aidan was a former pupil at Dolau Primary School in Llanharan, Samuel a past pupil at Ysgol Gynradd Gymraeg Tonyrefail and Joseph at Ysgol Gynradd Gymunedol Gymraeg Llantrisant.
Ysgol Llanhari is proudly celebrating providing 50 years of Welsh medium education to the pupils of Rhondda Cynon Taf and beyond.
Enjoy this special chapter as we hear in their discussion with their form tutor, Mr Iolo Roberts, how they have reaped the benefits of a Welsh medium education.
