Establishing Health Care as an adolescent is critical to health and well-being. Legislation like the ACA was enacted in 2010 and intended to make affordable health care accessible to everyone. In doing so, it expanded the Medicaid program. It increased young adult insurance coverage and even included a provision mandating most private plans to provide dependent coverage to adults. However, it does not stop there. Many barriers still exist to young adults establishing health care, which has significantly impacted their relationship to asking for help in health.
