She became one of only a few female industrial hygienists at a time when men dominated the profession. Despite many obstacles, she went on to become president of her local section in California and then chair of AIHA’s Local Sections Council. She then joined the AIHA Board and served as president of the Academy of Industrial Hygiene. Today, we gain insight into Chris L-D’s extensive career and her thoughts about the future of OEHS.

In this episode of the Healthier Workplaces Show Podcast, we interview Industrial Hygienist Mike Ierardi. Mike is an active member of several AIHA volunteer groups, including the PR(IH)DE Special Interest Group. He founded this volunteer group in 2022 to incorporate diversity, equity, and inclusion in the IH and OEHS professions, particularly with regard to professionals in the LGBTQ+ community.
