This Episode Brought to You by MOA (means Mother of ALL). “One serving of this Revolutionary blend of 36 Superfoods is equivalent to a shopping cart full of fruits and vegetables! We said NO to harmful, synthetic preservatives. NATRIIX is the patent-pending,
award winning natural preservative system at the heart of MOA.”
Hosts:
Darlene Ondi, Kate Miller, Belinda Muse, Piper Burch and Connie Brown.
Darlene honors those in attendance for the history-making first podcast of YouthfulU for International Women’s Day. What is the meaning of International Women’s Day and what better way to start off this episode than by Malala Yousafzai, a Pakistani activist for female education and the youngest Nobel Prize laureate. Darlene speaks to her own journey as a woman being raised in the 60s, an era when you were still to be home making babies and the start of women getting out in the world to have careers. Darlene shares a couple of women that have inspired her, Joan of Arc and Mother Teresa.
Connie speaks passionately her privilege of being surrounded by Powerful Women her entire life. Her mom, Jan Ostler has always been an Inspiration. Jan is a Pioneer. Connie also comes from a family of women, out of 72 grandchildren only 6 are boys. WOW! Connie was encouraged to follow her hopes and dreams and was the first in her family to attend college. Her best friend, Claudia is her biggest inspiration. Claudia is from Columbia. She was exiled and raised her and her sister from nothing. It’s an incredible story of how Claudia learned to be a fighter and succeed. Connie encourages the listener to think about what YOU as a woman are most proud of? What contributions have you given to yourself, family, community, and the world that will carry on?
Piper shares her love of period pieces, history, women’s fashion and how it has changed. How women went from wardrobes that we bound up tight, cinched, corseted. Everything had to be covered up, and it certainly wasn’t about comfort! In the past, marriage was a business transaction and women were chattel. Our entire financial stability was related to being with a man. As women became more free, the clothing became more free. Remember the flapper dresses of the 40s? Freedom of movement and no waistline!
As a mother, Kate shares a poem she resonates deeply with called, “She’s Somebody’s Mother”. This poem is one of the most precious items she owns. Kate encourages anyone who hasn’t heard of it, to give themselves this gift. Kate goes on to let us know her favorite author, Dr. Venice Bloodworth wrote, Key to Yourself, which is a book to live by. Madge Reynolds is also her hero so come be a part of this episode and learn why.
Belinda feels extraordinarily fortunate. She too is the first to get a college degree. She had no idea why she shouldn’t have a degree. Belinda was inspired greatly by several women, these were women that believed in her! Thank You Sherri Fisher, Joyce Pinni and Nancy Brand from Belinda!!! Oprah has further inspired her. Oprah dared to Believe in herself and someone dared to believe in her. When someone believes in you, you can conquer the world! Belinda closes by saying, who you know close to you and not close to you? Go Inspire Someone!
Tips and Thoughts to Ponder:
~Think of All the Women Accomplishments and what they went up against
~Learn about Piper’s Aunt Eileen
~It’s ALL about Uplifting and Supporting Women of ALL Ages
~BE a platform for change...more is caught then what is taught
