Dr. Edgar talks to us about women in dentistry and the initiatives she’s working on at the American Dental Association, from communication and collaboration, effective advocacy, and public awareness of the ADA to creating a welcoming environment for all.

For our first in this series, we welcome back Dr. ArNelle Wright. You know her as a host of the American Dental Association’s podcast, Dental Sound Bites. Dr. Wright and I had a frank conversation about women in dentistry, including challenges and successes. You don't want to miss it.

Today, we look at the Group Practice model through a different lens. Joining us is Dr. Joel L. Strom. His November article in the ADA News piqued our interest in taking a deeper look into corporate dentistry. Dr. Strom is a former California State Dental Board president, chair of ethics at the University of Southern California, and a member of the National Advisory Dental Cranial Research Council at the National Institutes of Health. He now practices as a partner with MB2 Dental. 

Today, we have Mike Durkee, Executive Director of the Wounded Veterans Relief Fund.  This program, unique to Florida, provides much-needed dental care for our veterans.  The program has an exciting appeal to dentists wanting to deliver services in that they work with their dentist volunteers to receive payment.
