From now until April, the Wellness Hub in Church St has some amazing Balance Thrive Blossom - Health and Wellness Workshops from 1pm each day. I gave some details in the brekky show this morning.
On this day in history, Mississippi is divided up into two states, and an Australian Cricketer scores his 10th test century on this day in 1991.
If you like the thrills and spills of mower racing (the ride-on kind). There is a place in Charters Towers where you can view and even take part on the 26th of April.
After the last 11 days or so of the floods the region has been experiencing, the waters are receding. The community have all been pulling together supporting each other. The emergency services and truck drivers have been amazing in the relief effort as well. I caught up with the Mayor of Charters Towers Regional Council who has been quite busy to talk about how the flood relief has been going and celebrated all those who helped and planning stages for the future disasters.
The hard working volunteers of the SES in the Charters Towers region have been working tirelessly over the past few months to help out in the community, especially with the recent floods. Today. Ivan Bates wanted me to pass on his thanks to Darcy, the coach of Charters Towers Miner Rugby's ladies team for filling in sandbags instead of their regular gym workout. The SES are also looking for new members. If you like to get involved, I give details in the podcast.
Berlin. A city known for the seat of the German Parliament, vibrant cultural scene, iconic landmarks and....... fruit salad?
The German capital was the site of the Guinness World record for the world's largest fruit salad ever made, weighing a massive 11,790 kilograms as part of Fruchthof Berlin's 75th anniversary.
Another birthday call this morning. This time, for someone in Richmond. They're turning 22 today.
Some like it with yoghurt, some like it with cream, some like it with chocolate. Some like going to Belgium where there's a museum dedicated to it. I gave some sweet, delectable facts about strawberries on the brekky show this morning.
One of my most favorite segments of the breakfast show is doing the birthday calls. Here's another one for Monday.
There are many claims to be the world's oldest (I'm not there yet), including the world's oldest city. But, according to Guinness World Records, the title of the oldest city in the world goes to the ancient Mesopotamian city of Uruk, in modern day Iraq.
