  • Sweethearts and Heroes - Jay Cummings
This morning, Wednesday (Sweethearts & Heroes day on the Aired Out Podcast) my guest was Jay Cummings of Peoples Trust Company in St. Albans.

We took at deep dive in several areas - including the recent suicide at Barre City Elementary & Middle School, whom we are hopeful will watch this episode. The powerful work being done by Sweethearts & Heroes and the incredible impact Tom Murphy and his team at Sweethearts and Heroes (“The World’s #1 Youth Leadership Team”) are having on schools across Vermont, New England, and beyond is nothing short of staggering. Hop on Sweetheartsheroes.com to get a brief idea.

From Circle communication and creating real human connection with youth, to the importance of empathy, listening, leadership, and helping students feel seen and heard, Sweethearts & Heroes continues changing school culture one conversation at a time. Their programs focus on HOPE (“Hold On, Possibilities Exist”), empathy, action, and empowering students to lead positive change within their own schools and communities.

We discussed why so many schools are missing the mark when meaningful connection and communication are absent — and why Circle work may be one of the most important tools available today for reaching young people in a disconnected world.

If your school, organization, or community hasn’t experienced Sweethearts & Heroes yet, this conversation may change your perspective entirely. Learn more and help bring real change to your community today at sweetheartsandheroes.com.

  • CVHHH Memorial Golf Tournament and TONS MORE !
This morning on “Aired Out,” Emily McKenna of Central Vermont Home Health & Hospice joined the show to talk about the 30th Annual Hospice Memorial Golf Tournament and the continued importance of community support for families navigating end-of-life care and grief services here in Central Vermont. The conversation highlighted how the annual tournament has become both a fundraiser and a celebration of compassion, remembrance, and local connection.

Also this morning, a tip of the hat to BIKERS FOR BETH with the total amount of money raised for Joe Edson and Chuck Lyford.

I also covered the latest on a deadly shooting making national news, escalating tensions involving Iran, developments surrounding the United States Department of Justice, and continued discussion about Elon Musk and the growing influence of AI.

Locally and statewide, I mentioned Vermont’s new AI Economic Task Force created by Governor Phil Scott (designed to examine how artificial intelligence could impact Vermont’s workforce, economy, education system, and rural communities over the next several years). Are Vermonters concerned over energy consumption tied to AI infrastructure and data centers?

Also talked about rising and falling gasoline prices heading into summer travel season, Cocaine-filled Kardashian underwear, Luigi Mangione,Tyler Robinson, the Richneck Elementary School shooting, Colchester’s Burger King, Vermont’s controversial education reform package and what it could mean for taxpayers, small schools, local communities, concerns involving a Burlington daycare center and much more.
