There are hundred billion neurons in the human brain. A subset of these neurons gets stimulated in our brain when we see a fellow human suffer pain or enjoy pleasure. And, we empathize with that fellow human. Under the skin, we all are one. Our neurons in the brain are made to empathize with each other. Padma Bhushan Dr. V. S. Ramachandran who researched this kind of neurons in our brain has given them the right name. He calls them the Gandhi neurons. Gandhi, through out his life, put himself in others shoes and always understood his people. This story is a tribute to the Mahatma, on his birthday.
As this week's activity, You can narrate a story about Gandhi, especially showcasing his empathy towards people and I can add it on our website and the one that I like the most, will also be lined up in my podcast.
Thank you so much.
