In the latest episode of "The Making of a Paper" Exploring Masculinity, Medicaid, and Firearm Suicide, AJPH Student Think Tank members Kelsey Witmeier and Hridith Sudev sit down with Dr. Carmen Gutierrez, Dr. Lauren Caton, and Emily Rippey, to discuss their recently published article in AJPH. Their study examines if Medicaid expansion was associated with changes in firearm suicide among Black and White men. The authors discuss how their working definition of masculinity shapes their analysis and results. Finally, they discuss implications of their findings, musing that all policy is health policy.
