In the book of Revelation, John uses the title “Alpha and Omega” three times (1:8; 21:6; 22:13). In Jewish usage, this title was often used to describe God the Father. But in Revelation, John teaches us to understand Jesus this way as well. The Son was present with the Father in the beginning; so, too, will the eternal Son be present in the end. Jesus stands outside the bounds of time as the Alpha and Omega (the first and the last letters of the Greek alphabet).

At John 1:29, John the Baptist makes a bold proclamation about the identity of Jesus: “Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!” With the Passover narrative in the background (Exodus 12), the NT writers affirm the connection between Jesus and the Passover Lamb (1 Cor. 5:7; 1 Pet. 1:18-20). As the Lamb of God, Jesus stands as a substitute, taking our place much as the lamb that took Isaac’s place in Gen. 22. Jesus also stands as a propitiation for our sins, turning back the wrath of God.

The last 12 hours of His life was important to Jesus. John 14 is probably one of the most popular scriptures, other than 23 Plsalm, for giving encouragment and promise to His followers.Jesus Brings PeaceTo let your "heart be troubled" means to be under great mental distreess. In the final hours of His life, Jesus brings peace to His followers, telling them He will not leave them without a comforter, the Holy Spirit (v. 14). Jesus' peace is based on relationship: "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid." (V. 27) He also tells the followers in verse 2 that the heavenly Faither will personally invite you to His home: "My Father’s house has many rooms...I'm going there to prepare a place for you." We are to trust God and let Him be our Father: "Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." (Matt. 11:28) "I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33). Of course, we must be His to receive the receive His blessings : “The Lord added to the church (His body) daily those who were being saved” (Acts 2:47).Peace is based on obedience: When we obey the Lord we have peace of mind; disobedience brings distress: "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:6-7)Jesus Is a Promise MakerPromises are given in the second and third verses: "I am going there to prepare a place for you....And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am." Jesus is telling His followers that He is not going to leave them helpless or orphans. We are to put our trust in Him. After all, He knows how things started and how things are going to end; He is the alpha and the omega. Jesus Is a Person“I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you really know me, you will know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.” (v. 6) And there is salvation in none other: "And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12)

The deity of Jesus is discussed throughout the New Testament:John 1:1: "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."Philippians 2: "Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men....Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."Romans 9:5: "of whom are the fathers and from whom, according to the flesh, Christ came, who is over all, the eternally blessed God. Amen.But our foucus today is on Revelation 5, where John's glimpse of Heaven describe Jesuas as the One being worshipped by the angels.Revelation is a message of hope and encouragement as we read the book of John and celebrate His victory over death. According to John, We should worship Him because of:Who He is: The lion of Judah, the root of David, but also the lamb of GodWhere He is: The lamb is standing on the throne. We can relinquesh control because we know who ultimately is in control and who holds the future in His hands.What He did for us: They are singing a new song in Heaven because He has accomplished redemption and salvation through the shedding of His blood. Victory is in Jesus.

It's OK to get angry, it's what you get angry about that matters. James 3 says you can't control your tongue all the time; it is a restless evil.
