The deity of Jesus is discussed throughout the New Testament:John 1:1: "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."Philippians 2: "Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men....Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."Romans 9:5: "of whom are the fathers and from whom, according to the flesh, Christ came, who is over all, the eternally blessed God. Amen. But our foucus today is on Revelation 5, where John's glimpse of Heaven describe Jesuas as the One being worshipped by the angels.Revelation is a message of hope and encouragement as we read the book of John and celebrate His victory over death. According to John, We should worship Him because of:Who He is: The lion of Judah, the root of David, but also the lamb of GodWhere He is: The lamb is standing on the throne. We can relinquesh control because we know who ultimately is in control and who holds the future in His hands. What He did for us: They are singing a new song in Heaven because He has accomplished redemption and salvation through the shedding of His blood. Victory is in Jesus.
