My next guest is Duncan Armstrong — an Olympic gold medallist, Commonwealth Games champion, and one of Australia’s most memorable sporting figures. He famously claimed gold in the 200m freestyle at the 1988 Seoul Olympics in what remains one of the great upsets in Australian sporting history. He has also represented Australia at the highest level across World Championships and Commonwealth Games competition, earning respect not just for his achievements, but for his determination and grit.

Since retiring from elite competition, Duncan has remained a respected voice in Australian swimming and media. He has worked as a commentator, mentor, and advocate for the sport, continuing to inspire the next generation with his experience, discipline, and honesty about what it truly takes to succeed — both in and out of the pool.
