Today we will look at a murder case in which a white deputy sheriff, while on duty, shot and killed an unarmed black woman. In 2014 and 2015 our country was confronting issues of racism and its impact on law enforcement. And, just as importantly, the impact of the actions of law enforcement on race. This situation took place before George Floyd died in the custody of police officers in Minnesota, but was after the riots in Jefferson City Missouri, over the Michael Brown shooting, in which thousands of people took to the streets and protested the actions of the police there. The trial here took place in Bastrop County, Texas, in the immediate aftermath of or surrounded by, and amid all the racial tension that was going on in this country.
This is a podcast I don’t want to do, and one you don’t want to hear. Frankly, this is a podcast that should go viral, but it won’t unless you listen, absorb, and then share this with everyone you know. Today we will be talking about child sexual abuse. You may want to avoid having to listen to something like this but I encourage you to stay with me. All around us we see sexual abuse of children, child exploitation and the human trafficking of children. We as a just nation must be informed about this continuing and destructive tragedy. I won’t be going into graphic details, but these are tough cases to hear, so I wanted to warn you about the content before we get started.
This is about a murder case I handled as a criminal defense attorney many years ago. The details are a bit graphic; but then, most murder cases are. Be sure to share this episode with your friends, and thanks for listening.
Today, I will cover the last five military traits for success in any endeavor, which are mental toughness, having a positive mental attitude, honor, courage, and faith. All of those traits are important to success in almost any endeavor, but they are equally important to the renewal of American excellence by starting with the individual. Coupled with those traits I covered in episodes 211 and 212, the we have fifteen military traits for success in almost any endeavor. We all get better at doing something with repetition and time, and the same is true for developing and implementing these 15 traits for success. Best of luck to you as you continue to move forward with honor and courage in doing the things you do in life.
Today we will be talking about a tragedy I witnessed due to false allegations made in a major criminal case. Please follow me on your favorite podcast platform and be sure to share these episodes with your friends.
Today we will be talking about the process involved in the trial of any major criminal case. This podcast is more informative than drama, but I hope it will set the stage for how jury trials work in the highest level trial courts of the great state of Texas, and give you a better understanding of the criminal justice system in Texas. Getting a jury selected and seated in a major criminal case is a complex, time consuming process that is intended to provide a fair and unbiased jury at the beginning of the case. I hope this introduction will help you understand the process and if you receive a jury summons, I encourage you to go and participate. Jury service is one of the great rights provided by our form of laws and our constitution. In my opinion, jury service is every bit as important as any other kind of public service. Be sure to take your turn at it when the opportunity comes up.
Prayer warriors play a vital role in our conflict with Satan and his minions, representing a profound connection with our Holy God. Prayer warriors recognize prayer as a powerful weapon in these spiritual battles, aligning our hearts with God's purpose. The Bible emphasizes the transforming impact of fervent prayer, as it promotes unity among believers, advances healing, and seeks divine intervention. By becoming prayer warriors, we Christians are able to actively participate in God's unfolding plan for creation, contributing to the collective strength of the faithful throughout the world.
