This tale has an environmental edge, and (unfortunately) for a tale with was written 25 years ago very little has changed so therefore still has relevance despite it's age on paper. Without giving away too many spoilers, Southbeach is visited by Ollie the Alien, a town blighted by pollution. A group of local children befriend Ollie, who tells then that a probe sent from his planet which landed there 100 years ago may explode due to the pollution in the seas there. But who else might be affected by the town pollution problem?

    CHAPTER 1
Which word tells you that the probe stayed there for 100 years?
    Where does Martin live?
    What is a 'journalist'?
How does Martin look at the stars?
What does the word 'dazzling' tell you about the sight?

    CHAPTER 2
What had Martin been dreaming about?
Where on the aliens' body was the 'computer'?
Why did the children say it spoke Chinese?
    What is 'a scoop'?
