This section on prayer is the very center of Jesus' sermon. We explore the centrality of the Lord's prayer to the sermon and to the Christian life.

Why we do what we do, even our righteous acts, matters. Who are we doing our righteous deeds for? Whose honor are we really seeking?

We conclude Matthew chapter 5 by looking at the climax of Jesus' case studies on righteousness. We see that true righteousness is knowing and becoming like our heavenly father who blesses even his enemies.

Jesus addresses the integrity that is exposed in our words and the promises we make. But what lies underneath these commands we have covered so far. We examine what it looks like to have humility and focus on the internal instead of the external.

Jesus continues to illustrate what true righteousness looks like by examining the issues of adultery and divorce and the heart state that they flow from. What does Kingdom Righteousness look like at a heart level when it comes to our sexual desire?

We wade into the main body of the sermon where Jesus helps us reconsider who we think of as "righteous".

Living out the beatitudes doesn’t always feel like the good life. What do we do then? How do we embrace Jesus call to Kingdom values when we aren’t feeling the blessings?

What has come out of our summer of prayer and seeking input from the congregation about the future direction of the church? We convey what we have heard and some potential next steps.
