What happens when you stop letting everyone else decide what you should believe about your own experience?

That's a question I kept coming back to during my conversation with David Tran, a former corporate executive who spent 25 years working in digital marketing and data analytics before a profound shift in his life led him into the world of consciousness and psi.

David is a back-to-back Psi Games precognition competitor, taking first place in 2025 and second place in 2026. We talk about what precognition actually looks like in competition, what happened when his brainwaves appeared almost completely flat on the EEG monitor, why he thinks we're entering a renaissance of human abilities, and what happened when he finally decided to leave his corporate career and follow his calling.

My new friend S, who I met at Psi Games, sent me a meditation she created.

I put in my AirPods, laid down in bed, and tried it. At some point, I felt like I was floating in space.

But S's experience went much further.

After an incredibly difficult period caring for her dying mother while also taking over and trying to sell her family's 100-year-old pickle company, S began experimenting with the Gateway Tapes. There was just one problem: she couldn't visualize.

S eventually discovered she has aphantasia, so she began finding her own way into meditation using sound, touch, music, movement, and sensation.

What happened next became the inspiration for Sonic Vessel.

In this conversation, S shares the out-of-body experience she says allowed her to encounter her deceased parents, how profoundly it changed her afterward, and how she and musician Lisa Iwanycki turned that experience into an entirely different approach to meditation.

On Day 2 of the Psi Games, I somehow managed to stick a quarter to a wall—twice. Then I tried to recreate it on camera, and suddenly it wouldn't work.

And honestly? The older I get, the more I realize how true that actually is.
