The story of Cain and Abel is one of a family divided by sin, and a choice made again and again to step away from the presence of God. But where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.

When we come into contact with suffering, especially as a result of living like Jesus in the world, it can be tempting to see what we face as who we are. Peter turns the idea of suffering on its head, and calls us to follow Jesus who suffered shame and death on the cross to offer us the glory of life now and forevermore.

Our call to make disciples as we go into the world is one that some feel greater than others. How can we as a church be true partners in Gospel work across the globe? Steve Early speaks from Philippians and his own experience about the difference the local church makes to global mission.

Whether we like it or not, hope springs eternal. 1 Peter 3 has an answer for the hope we as Christians have - King  Jesus.  It's a hope that lets us live through our hardships and gives us an example of submitting to one another as Christ submitted himself.
