1. The 50th Anniversary of Star Trek occurred on September 8. In celebration of this amazing achievement, Star Trek Online gave away the 23rd Century Bundle for free and for 24 hours only, starting September 8, at 2pm Pacific time on PC, Playstation4 and Xbox One. This bundle includes the Class F Shuttle, the entire Original Series Ship Interior, the Command Tunic Uniform, the Medical Officer Uniform, the Formal Dress Uniform, as well as a TOS phaser weapon. If you missed this offer, you haven’t been taking our nagging seriously to visit the STO website. Tsk, tsk.

2. As reported previously, the current release ‘Temporal Cold War’ time-travel episodes came to an unexpected conclusion, not through gameplay, but through blog backstories. Yet another backstory has been posted on the website with hints of mission hints to come. A fascinating must-read and again, I shall refrain from spoilers.

3. On September 6, Star Trek Online was finally released for Xbox One and Playstation4. 6 years of gameplay content will be playable right from day one! Huge improvements in graphics and UI are featured. As with the PC version, it will be 100% free to download and play.

4. STO, Cryptic Studios, Perfect World and CBS announced a partnership with Eucled to allow players the ability to 3D print any ship they own with infinite variations of customisation as a durable plastic model. A free desk stand is included. Take note: these are not tiny 2-inch models but are 12+ inches big. This service will be available soon.

5. The usual reminder: The AIE Classis’ Fleet Starbase is still seeking contributions of materiel and duty officers from all AIE fleet mates. Check out the Fleet holdings tab in the Fleet’s in-game menu for donation needs.

1. The ‘Agents of Yesterday’ expansion released July 6, is still in full swing! This reporter is enjoying replaying the new episodes again, but with new bridge crew members. As explanation, this reporter received a redemption code for being a 50th Anniversary Star Trek Las Vegas participant: the entire holographic bridge crew of the original series USS Enterprise as epic bridge crew members. This even included Yeoman Rand with her epic and famous beehive hairdo! The reward was courtesy of Cryptic Software.

2. As reported last time, the current release ’Temporal Cold War’ time-travel episodes came to an unexpected conclusion, not through gameplay, but through a blog backstory. Another backstory also concluded the end of temporal hostilities for the little-known Vorgon race: ‘Winter of Discontent’. A fascinating must-read and again, we are staying clear of spoilers.

3. There is a 20%-off star ship sale in the C-Store this weekend until August 15m 10 am PDT. If you are a player awaiting the perfect time to purchase that sweet pilot attack ship, that awesome, all-powerful dreadnaught or that stealthy, invincible science carrier, you simply must take advantage of this sale.

4. Make AIE Classis Starbase the crown jewel of the Federation! The AIE Classis’ Fleet Starbase is still seeking contributions of materiel and duty officers from all AIE fleet mates. Patch 7.0.3 has hit and what’s new that can keep you busy for a couple weeks? You can go recipe hunting!

Tome of the Clear Mind and Codex of the Clear Mind: These items, crafted by Scribes, allow you to freely talent when you are not in a rested area. The recipe for Tome of the Clear Mind comes from the Herb Trader in your Garrison, as well as the Garrison Quartermaster Sergeant Crowler and Sergeant Grimjaw. Codex of the Clear Mind is a world drop.

If you like the look of weapon enchants, you can now collect them for Transmog and they are known as Weapon Illusions – http://www.wowhead.com/guides/transmogrification/weapons/illusions

You can gather some individually and others, including a quest line for one, come with a group of illusions.

If you like clothes, and who doesn’t, you can run Kharazan and Molten Core for drops of new recipes that will teach tailors how to make a Clothes Chest useable by your party from the Kharazan Opera House and Molten Core.

1. The Star Trek Las Vegas 50th anniversary convention starts this Wednesday, August 3, 2016. As a tribute to 50 years of Star Trek, Star Trek Online is celebrating with it’s ‘Agents of Yesterday’ release along with associated, limited-time perks.

2. The ‘Agents of Yesterday’ expansion released July 6, is in full swing! A player creates an original series Trek character and plays special time travel episodes.Cybyl reports that the episodes quite light and fairly easy. The short story arc has a major plot twist but, no spoilers!

3. The current release ’Temporal Cold War’ time-travel episodes came to an unexpected conclusion, not through gameplay, but through a new blog backstory: ’No Profit but the Name’.

4. The concurrent timeline story arcs had enough players somewhat confused of the timeline differences. So STO released blogpostings ‘The Story So Far’ parts 1 and 2. These must-read narratives explain the differences in the timelines and clear up major points of confusion. A part 3 is rumored to be released next week.

5. There are a 20% off Services and a 15% off Lockbox key sales this weekend. If you are a player with new bridge officers or have collected a quantity of Kelvin lockbox loot drops, take advantage of this sale.

6. The usual large number of UI and player quality-of-life improvements and fixes, were released over the last 2 weeks as well. For a complete run down, check out the website.

Greetings Gamers. This is Mewkow, bringing you the AIE raid wrap-up for August 2016, the End of Draenor edition.

While this was a rather long raid season, even longer than the Siege of Orgrimmar, it certainly gave us plenty of time to get things done.

With the Pre-Patch live, we might just see some teams sneak in a quick victory to finish out the expansion.

Mythic

Just Blame The Healers went 5 bosses into Mythic HellFire Citadel, ending at Kilrogg for a 5 of 13 finish.

Better Late Than Never managed to make it to the Council, leaving them 4 of 13 to finish out.

Heroic

Kiddie Aggro, and Who Pulled That ended their reign of terror with a 13/13 sweep of heroic.

Horseshoes and Hand Grenades has able to take out Archimonde, making them 13 of 13 in Heroic as of April 28th.

Filthy Casuals are 13 of 13 ending their killing spree on May 10th.

DoA last defeated Heroic Tyrant, putting them at 12 of 13 on May 22nd.

Witty & Sophisticated ended their journey by taking out Archimonde on July 10th making them 12 of 13 as they prepare for Legion.

Cereal Killers decided that they liked the coziness of Zakuun’s lair, choosing to hang out there until Legion, leaving them at 8 of 13.

Ooka Hozen Style seemed to like that idea as well, ending their progression with Zakuun, skipping Iskar, which I don’t blame them for, and ending at 7 of 13

Normal

FERT, who is anything but normal, is now 13 of 13, having taken down Archimonde on July 28th.

Ready Check preferred the lighting in the Council’s room, ending their time there for a 4 of 13 finish.

WoWHead has a wonderful writeup of all the changes that happen when the patch hits. Inventory space seems to be #1 on everyone’s list with the new Transmog collections tab going live, a lot of the items people have been saving up for transmog will now be able to be sold/deleted as the appearance will be captured in the collections tab. Personally, I’m going to keep items with on-use abilities like the Headless Horseman’s Helm and the Argent Tournament tabard because the transmog closet is only capturing the appearance, not the whole item.

All the new class changes and mechanics will be live including glyphs going away (sell them before Tuesday or you’ll have a bunch of grey items in your bank/inventory where they’re stored.

Also, with the new changes and the long layoff in Legion, expect many addon authors to take a bit of time to catch up, there has been some major API re-work done and things like Tidy Plates Threat Plates won’t work and may not be updated for Legion.

RRF Captain Cybyl’s Star Trek Online News Summary for week ending 07/17/2016:

1. The ‘Agents of Yesterday’ expansion released July 6, and introduced new retro starships, new missions and a new Captain Specialisation: Temporal Operative. Players can create brand new captains in the Original Series era and engage in a story that takes them through the 23rd century and beyond. Meet the original crew and admire Yeoman Rand’s awesome beehive hairdo. Also the new Kelvin Lockbox loot drop will introduce retro T2 thru T5 starships, new T6 starships, uniforms, retro weapons, consoles and loads of useful stuff. The website lists these and more surprises in exquisite detail. The ‘Agents of Yesterday’ expansion into the Kelvin Timeline will have an amazing cast of voice actors joining our captains on their adventure through this episodic content. Walter Koenig will be reprising his role as Chekov, and Chris Doohan will be filling in for his father by playing Montgomery “Scotty” Scott. Additionally, Chase Masterson will return and will be reprising her role as Admiral Leeta from the Mirror Universe, and Matt Winston will be making his Star Trek Online debut as Agent Daniels – originally seen on Sthe tar Trek: Enterprise TV series. Finally, Joseph Gatt playing the cyborg crewman 0718, a character from the new Star Trek movies also joins us on our first adventure into this universe.

2 The STO Summer Event on Risa will be ending July 21st. There is still time to do daily events to win prize vouchers for vanity pets, vintage beachwear, updated mini-powerboards, jetpacks, and much, much more. 3. Two more Temporal Agent backstories, ‘My Own Worst Enemy’ and ‘Aftershocks’ were released on the website blog. They fill in important details of the Mirror Universe, Vorgon and Na’Kuhl involvement in upcoming gameplay. Read them now to be forewarned and prepared. They are both a great read. Also, sweet, new Temporal Agent T6 starships were added to both the Lobi Store and C-Store for this story arc as well.

4 Make AIE Classis Starbase Great Again! The AIE Classis’ Fleet Starbase is still seeking contributions of materiel and duty officers from all AIE fleet mates. Donations assist in building up the Fleet’s Starbase and other Fleet holdings to their full potential. Check out the Fleet holdings tab in the Fleet’s in-game menu.

5 A truly massive number of UI and player quality-of-life improvements and fixes, were released over the last 4 weeks as well. Players are encouraged to check out news, patch release notes, forums, commentary, etc., at the Star Trek Online website .

Gusty: I was invited (OK lured) to AIE by Lisky, who was the former tank in my former raid guild. I was a bit intimidated at joining a massive outfit like AIE, but it’s been a great fit! I’ve been raiding with two AIE teams as well as with my main’s guild, Lunacy. I love being able to easily find guildies for heroics, mythics, and various mischief. I also love the events that AIE does, to help members accomplish things they haven’t been able to complete on their own.

Sy: Well, we’re counting down the days to pre-patch for Legion. I think to start with, we should recap some of the best things we liked about Warlords. Personally, I liked the concept of the garrisons and shipyards. Yeah, they could have been better, but it was something new added to the game. Something optional. I really really hate to say this, but the Alliance garrisons are so much prettier than Horde. Another thing I liked was some of the new mechanics they came up with in boss fights in raiding, like the construct in Socrethar, and the craziness of the heroic Archy fight. Or even the pop tarts during Hanz and Franz. What did you think guys think about this last expansion?

Gusty: While I 100% agree the Alliance has better looking garrisons, the dirty, spiky Horde is my home. I’ll miss my followers such as Garona, Ken-Ken, Kristian Nairn and of course, Leeeroy Jenkins. The starting zone End quests were also glorious. Even after 10 alts, I still shout “Lok-Tar!” along with Ga’nar. I was disappointed though by how quickly many of the warlords, in Warlords, came and went. Orgrim, we hardly knew ye! Now though, I’m excited for the pre-expansion patch, especially the new transmog system. We are all about The Mog, right Sy? I also want to get a firm hold on my talent changes so I can be ready when Blizzard unlocks more content as we get closer to Legion’s August 30th launch. I’ll be rolling a gnome hunter and of course, a Demon Hunter. Does everybody know that you can get an early start on your Demon Hunter if you pre-purchase Legion?

Sy: Guess what else is coming up for AIE? Summer of Love. This year, Summer of Love will be held from August 1st to the 7th. On Tuesday, August 2nd, the whole AIE community will be observing our annual Remembrance Day, in honor of those of us that have fallen in real life. Each game division will have a place to meet with WoW meeting at the Shrine of the Fallen Warrior in Northern Barrens. (Open discussion with everyone on the meaning of Remembrance Day)

Gusty: (Again ) It’s also time for another episode of Creamy Orange Otter Pop. Yep, that’s right. There will be COOP on Friday night during Summer of Love. Because we love our Alliance brethren and want to hug them and squeeze them … to death. Nothing says love like dancing on the bones of your enemies.

Sy: Saturday night, BRA and DoA raid teams are joining forces to host an old school raid night. We are inviting everyone in the guild, level 90+, to join us. We are going to be doing Siege of Orgrimmar raid on Heroic and doing all the raid achievements. This is a great way to finally get that Shammy only transmog set or to get the Reins of Galakras mount.

Gusty: (Again) This is where we need your help though. The officers aren’t the only people who can host events. We have plenty of other days during this week where we could have events, like costume contests, war games, and running of the beef. Maybe even an All Druid run of ICC? But we need you to step up and help. If you’re interested in hosting or helping with a guild event, please contact Syreyne (if possible include a Left Shark. She can never have enough). Or you can contact any other officer at [email protected]. This is your chance to give back to our community and have fun while doing it.

2. So, what does this mean? Glad you asked. Players will soon be able to move between the Classical Star Trek TV/Movie universe to the JJ Abrams-inspired ’Star Trek-into-Darkness’ timeline. This JJVerse timeline will be the basis of the upcoming CBS online-only series coming in 2017. Hopefully this will settle the controversy plaguing Trek fans as to which Universe is the most relevant. Players would be able to play both universes without feeling schizo. Who knew?

It unlocks the ability to use the NX prefix on all ship serial numbers to denote an experimental prototype. It even comes with the grappler console, which allwos you to shoot a grappling hook onto an enemy ship. Also, you can be a lieutenant and fly this ship, which for those who do not know is the rank you are when you get your first ship. It makes a great starter ship.

Due to a sadly low drop rate for the garrison boss summoning items., Thuggs has changed the date on the AIE Vs Garrison Boss event to coincide with the Summer of Love! See our forums for details, or whisper Thuggs in game (or on twitter at @Alecmazzar).

And reminder you can help by farming up the boss summoning items. These items have a chance to drop upon ANY completed garrison invasion regardless of any previous invasions done that week. They are INDEPENDENT of the bag of loot drops and you have a chance each and every time you complete an invasion. Everyone can help, regardless if they’ve done it before. And we will need that help, because we need at least 2-4 of every item.

Speaking of Summer of Love, it is coming- sooner than you think! This year, the annual event of love and celebration runs August 1st to August 7th. Right now, the Community wide Remembrance day is Tuesday, August 2nd, Friday August 5th we have a COOP tentatively planed, and Saturday, August 6th we have Old School raid night! There have been many pre-release beta episodes to get players with beta server access a chance to get familiarised with. 2. Another beta mission, (drumroll, please) ‘Vorgon Conclusions’, was released. This story is a continuation to the ongoing ’Yesterday’s War’ story arc. It is available to players with beta server access. Details are posted on the Star Trek Online website

I know! Let’s talk about back when AIEU was living in Fountain.

You see back in the day AIEU used to be part of TEST Alliance Please Ignore and all was good with the world.

We use to fight with this group called the CFC and they became the strongest group in the game and we were cool.

Until one day, the Fire Nation Attacked!

The CFC who has changed their name to The Imperium decided that we were no longer cool and kicked TEST from it’s home in Fountain.

We were kind of mad because Hoots had just started to run Planetary Interactions in our part of space.

So we went gypsy and wandered Faction Warfare and we decided to leave TEST and join this alliance called BRAVE.

And for a while things were cool. We were even able to find a new ancestral home land.

And then BRAVE blew up.

And we went gypsy once again and we decided to really check out a new alliance.

And we did, and this alliance used to be in the CFC and they were betrayed when the Fire nation… I mean the CFC kicked them out. Because they were independently minded and ask questions.

Alea Iacta Est Universal Triumphant!

CCP Games released the latest expansion cinematic trailer during the EVE Fanfest keynote presentation featuring the new ability for players to build “castles in space” called Citadels. These citadels can be built anywhere in space and will be completely player built and controlled. In addition a new capital size “Force Auxiliary” ships will be made available for large ship field support. The most important feature of the new citadel structures is that they will be 100% destructible, forcing players to defend their castles from enemy attack.

Another Temporal Front back story was released. It was a well-written, third-person account of a lecture to students of Temporal Mechanics in a 29th century Academy classroom with an unexpected turn of events.. You have to read it to believe it!

For status of the AIE Classis’ Fleet Starbase, all fleet mates are encouraged to check in on the fleet holdings tab in the Fleet’s in-game menu. Contributions of materiel and personnel are always requested to assist in building up the base and fleet holdings to their full potential.
