Sometimes you will hear a critic of the faith claim that Jesus never identified Himself as God or instructed His followers to worship Him. The reality? Jesus did in fact claim to be God and instructed all people everywhere to worship Him as they worship the Father.

Contentment is a virtue. When we are malcontent, our selfish desires lead us directly to idol worship like the man at Asclepion's pool. Yet, Jesus shows more grace and calls us to sin no more.

Jesus consistently criticized people for seeking after signs, miracles, and wonders instead of having simple faith in God as God worked all things together. Maybe it's time for us to soften our own hearts and get back to simple faith.

Our stories aren't about how we made our own lives better by becoming religious like they are in worldly religion. They are more like the Samaritan woman, who was convicted of her sin, repented, and believed in Jesus. It is shown that God alone saves His people despite their sin. We don't earn our holiness by our religion in any way.
