Alexis Meek grew up in Lehi, Utah. During her junior and senior years of high school, her life changed dramatically when she was diagnosed with stage 3 cancer. At a time when her faith was not yet firmly rooted in the gospel, the challenges of battling cancer led her to develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and discover a deeper sense of purpose.

After overcoming cancer, Alexis felt a strong desire to support others facing similar struggles. She connected with fellow cancer survivors and partnered with Make-A-Wish to help raise funds for children battling serious illnesses. Grateful for what she considers a second chance at life, she chose to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Called to serve the Latin community in Portland, Oregon, Alexis found that her mission further strengthened her faith and solidified her passion for serving and loving others. Her journey is a testament to resilience, faith, and the power of turning life’s greatest challenges into opportunities to uplift those around us.
