Economics is a fundamental tool that studies and focuses on the behaviour and interactions of society in regard to production, distribution, and consumption of goods and services.
With multiple issues ongoing in Malaysia and around the world, we recognise the necessity of speaking up and discussing the current economic state of our country that affects our everyday lives. Is public transportation in our country effective? What is going on with the ban on chicken export?
In this episode, we have invited Mr Johnson, a senior Economics lecturer to seek these answers as we delve into the topics above as well as issues including the Covid-19 pandemic and paternity leave. Listen to find out more!

Police brutality of all forms in Malaysia has been making headlines recently, and it is clear that this has led to immense dissatisfaction as well as public pressure to demand the police to conduct case investigations or inquests effectively, efficiently, and with integrity.
What exactly is police brutality? How far is too far when it comes to imposing 'reasonable force' in arresting/detaining someone? How will the implementation of the much anticipated Independent Police Complaints and Misconduct Commission Bill (IPCMC) change the current scene of the state of police accountability in Malaysia? Listen to this episode to find out more!

Sabah is a state rich with tradition and culture as it is home to many indigenous groups. One of them is the Kadazan community, a group largely found in Penampang on the west coast of Sabah, the surrounding locales, as well as many different locations in the interior. The term “Kadazandusun” was created after the integration of cultures between the Kadazans and the Dusuns, and they are now one of the largest ethnic groups in Sabah.
Komuhakan is a youth-led movement seeking to promote and empower the culture and identity of Sabahan indigenous communities. In this episode, GUNS has invited a special guest from this initiative, Ms Velvette Rozelle Roger, to discuss the topic of Sabah's indigenous groups, mainly the Kadazan community. We explore issues such as the struggles that they currently face, how to overcome them, as well as the hopes for the community. We also get the opportunity to learn more about the story of Komuhakan and as a law student society, we cover discussions on our native laws as well!

As a Malaysian, September 16th is a significant historic date as it commemorates the merging of North Borneo (Sabah), Sarawak, Singapore, and the Federation of Malaya to form our home country today - Malaysia. As a law student society based in Sabah, we honour this formation by unpacking the truth behind the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63) to remind ourselves of its significance and implications to us today.
In this Malaysia Day Special Episode, GUNS has invited a very special guest speaker, YB Datuk Darell Leiking to share with us Sabah's perspective of MA63 then and today, and to elaborate on the story of Malaysia that never came to be.

In this first episode of Alibi, we discuss and share our own experiences in trying to uncover the truth behind the billion dollar question: “Is law school depressing?”
Depression - a topic that is often overlooked in most conservative Asian households as just feeling sad. The textbook definition for depression is a common and serious medical illness that negatively affects how you feel, the way you think, and how you act. It can lead to a variety of emotional and physical problems as well as a decrease in your ability to function at work and at home.
