Alien Entertainment – The Doctor Who Collectors Podcast Store

The Peter Cushing Dr. Who movies have been a popular part of Dr. Who. With many books and toys marketed to promote those films, collectors have swarmed to buy them up. Now, there is a new book going behind the making of these wonderful films. “Dr. Who and The Daleks: The Official Book of the Film” by John Walsh went to reprint in one hour after release. Today, I talk with John Walsh about this wonderful new book!

In 1981 there were 12 new hardcovers published with 9 novels, 2 reference books, and one reprint with a new cover. The writers strike is in full force making new books impossible to publish, but why not a few old titles in hardcover?  Join me and my guest Tony Whitt (host of the Dr. Who Target Book Club Podcast) on this part of the adventure in collecting classic hardcovers. I also have a most outrageous offer that even River Song can’t fix! See you there! Keep collecting!

It is rare to speak with a veteran Dr. Who companion. Mr. Peter Purves appeared in 46 episodes of Dr. Who with William Hartnell. He started as Morton Dill in part 3 of The Chase, then boarded the Tardis in part 6.  He continued his adventures until a new producer came in and told him The Savages would his last.  In this interview we learn about his role, his working relationship with William Hartnell, his working with Daleks, and a collectible prop that he threw away. I believe this to be my best interview and my highest ranking guest to date! I also have a most outrageous offer that is 10 times the going price of a new item! Welcome to the new year and the 60th anniversary of Dr. Who!  The continuing legend of Morton Dill!

Let’s talk about the Doctor’s favorite tool, the Sonic Screwdriver. The talk will take a look at the 54-year-history of this fictional tool: from its humble beginnings as a life vest whistle and pen light, to Jodie Whittaker’s modern crystalline design, and will also look at the way it has been used in the narratives. This was recorded live at Chicago Tardis. All visuals will be linked below. We have collection protection, A wrap-up of Chicago Tardis 2022, and the Most Outrageous offer!
