Military & Intelligence Career Roberts served in the U.S. Army from 1973–1976 with CID’s Drug Suppression Team in Germany, working undercover narcotics under the codenames “Porkchops,” “Frisco,” and “Lambchop.” From 1979–1986, he transitioned into Military Intelligence at the Photo Interpretation Center in Korea (PIC-K), where he held a Top Secret SBI clearance. Known as “Joe Hollywood,” he later became an OPFOR (Opposing Forces) trainer portraying a Soviet defector, instructing elite units including Special Forces, Delta Force, Navy SEALs, 101st and 82nd Airborne, Marine Recon, and more in the identification of Soviet threat systems. Dancing & Entertainment Between 1976–1979, Roberts worked professionally as a dancer and instructor with Arthur Murray studios and performed with Jeff Kutache’s Dancing Machine in Lake Tahoe and Reno. He appeared in films including Roller Boogie and Skatetown USA and set a Guinness World Record for 205 hours of disco dancing, later featured in Ripley’s Believe It or Not and documented in the Wikipedia entry for “Disco.” Comics & Publishing Roberts became widely known in the comic community for interviewing creators and publishing reviews through Jazma Online!
