Former city councilman Gene Belmares and return cohost DigitalJeff join AOTB today. Gene held office for Laredo's city council from 2002 to 2008, ran for mayor of Laredo in 2009, and is currently one of the heads of Liquid Studio Group, a digital marketing firm in Laredo, Texas. Gene shares insight to the political atmosphere during his tenure in local politics, and shares an interesting story, implicating Laredo in the JFK assassination conspiracy.

This episode features Laredo-born rapper Nicholas Whipps, and special guest cohost Justin White of Dos Leones. Nicholas Whipps recently dropped his first, full length LP titled "Life". It is currently available on all digital platforms, and physical copy via Amazon's music service. The lyrical content of the album tackles some topics I've found myself pondering whenever I speak to people in my age group (mid 20s). There is some form of disconnect that my age group, and generation alike, share, actively seeking to disassociate from the dismal reality we currently exist in by way of inebriation or "self-medication" in the form of drug consumption. Aside from the exploration of the lyrical content, we dive into the sounds showcased on "Life", Whipps produced the whole album. We also take a stab at political content, consciousness, and experimentation with psychedelics, and what it all really means.
