  • "Following vs. Fear " - Joy Bomb - Week 9

Luke 5:8 When Simon Peter saw this, he fell at Jesus' knees and said, "Go away from me, Lord; I am a sinful man!"

The first part is being awakened to who God is all of His glory, all of His holiness, all of His power. The second part that follows is being awakened to who we are in light of that all-powerful, God.

Luke 5:10 …..Then Jesus said to Simon, "Don't be afraid; from now on you will fish for people." 11 So they pulled their boats up on shore, left everything and followed him

We all have to decide how closely we are going to follow Jesus. Because one thing certain about Jesus , is He does not stay in His lane!

  • "Joyful Response"- Joy Bomb- Week 5

“It’s not your problem that’s the problem, it’s your reaction to the problem that’s your problem.”

    “JOYFUL RESPONSE”

Joyful Response is actually caused by an expectant acceptance of the truth

Shift our perspective from where we are and the season we are in to what’s ahead and that shift will change everything.

  • "Privilege of Knowing Christ"- Joy Bomb- Week 2

Fierce Joy isn’t dependent on circumstances, but rooted in eternity.

    Philippians 3:1-11

1 Further, my brothers and sisters, rejoice in the Lord! It is no trouble for me to write the same things to you again, and it is a safeguard for you.

2 Watch out for those dogs, those evildoers, those mutilators of the flesh.

    Ephesians 2:8-10

God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. 9 Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. 10 For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.

  • "Joyful Perspective" - Joy Bomb - Week 1

Where does joy come from and why does it seem so elusive?

Acts 16:25 (NLT) 25 Around midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening.

True joy is not dependent on circumstances, but is rooted in the eternal.

Acts 16:26 (NLT) 26 Suddenly, there was a massive earthquake, and the prison was shaken to its foundations. All the doors immediately flew open, and the chains of every prisoner fell off!

Philippians 1:1–6 (NIV84) Paul and Timothy, servants of Christ Jesus . . .3 I thank my God every time I remember you. 4 In all my prayers for all of you, Ialways pray with joy

5 because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, 6 being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

"The test of authentic joy is it is compatible with deep suffering." - John Ortberg

  • Solid Inspection- Demo Day- Week 4

    Demolition precedes renovation.

    Deconstruction precedes reconstruction.

    We buy into a deception.

This produces something new in our lives, division.

The result of deception and division in our lives, destruction.

  • Renovation - (Demo Day- Week 3 )

    Demolition precedes renovation.

Luke 10:25–37 (NLT) 25 One day an expert in religious law stood up to test Jesus by asking him this question: “Teacher, what should I do to inherit eternal life?”

26 Jesus replied, “What does the law of Moses say? How do you read it?”

27 The man answered, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength, and all your mind.’ And, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’”

28 “Right!” Jesus told him. “Do this and you will live!”

29 The man wanted to justify (to be declared right) his actions, so he asked Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?”

     Add notes

    • Low view of God’s Law (I am already perfectly loving God)

    • Low view of ourselves (I have to keep the law or I am toast, perform or lose)

    • Low view of others (How much do I have to love others to pass?)
