Veronika, a lawyer and animal activist, initiated a campaign for the release of Mara and Baby, two elephants confined in a roadside zoo in Slovakia. These elephants were previously circus performers and have been subjected to cruel training and poor living conditions. Veronika aims to find a sanctuary for them and bring about legal changes to prevent similar animal abuse. The conditions in the zoo are inadequate, with limited space, poor flooring, and a lack of proper food and water. The elephants exhibit signs of stress and aggression. Veronika's campaign has gained international support, with over 65,000 signatures on the petition.

🐘 Mara and Baby are Asian female elephants owned by a circus and have been performing their entire lives.

🚚 The circus, now called a roadside zoo, still travels and exhibits the elephants after animal circus acts were banned in Slovakia in 2019.
