Dr. Patrice Cani, is a Professor at UCL in Brussels, Belgium, and group leader in the Metabolism and Nutrition Research Group at the Louvain Drug Research Institute. Dr. Cani has two masters in Human Nutrition and Health Sciences as well as a Phd in Biomedical Studies. On top of that, he is the author and co author of more than 290 scientific research publications. His main area of research is into how our gut health influences metabolic conditions including obesity and diabetes. We talk about his motto “In Gut we Trust”, how gut health influences not only metabolic disorders, but also cognitive and mental health. We speak on Prebiotics and Probiotics and their contribution to our Microbiomes, as well as delving into some evidence based recommendations to improve our gut health.
