17 Episodes later, we've shared the gist of our upbringing from the Philippines. After discussing Filipino food, dating, school systems, social, and work culture shocks, it all boils down to one big question. How has it all shaped us now? What lasting lessons did our parents bestow on us?
Plus, a really deep dive into what we would tell our younger selves if we could go back in time.
What would you tell your younger self if you could go back in time?

Dating is one of the toughest cultures for us to crack when we first moved to America. The Philippines' dating scene is a lot more conservative, family-oriented, and slower-paced compared to the American culture.
Dating in the '90s, in a pretty conservative culture means the man has to do a lot of work before getting a woman's attention before deciding that you're a match. There's a lot of "playing hard to get" - because it is all about the chase.
There were no dating sites back then so everything relied on organic interactions. We honestly prefer it. We don't think we really got acclimated to the American way but of course, we had to make adjustments to "fit in".
But what was dating like for teenagers who attend an all-girls Catholic school? It can be tricky but if there is a will, there is always a way. :)

It's tough to know how kids would turnout without parental authority. It's to be expected that some kids/teens may rebel and make all the wrong decisions for attention but what kept our All Abroad friends on a straight path? What saved them from taking that wrong turn?
It is a question of nature vs. nurture... tune in and find out exactly how your favorite Filipina friends navigated through their teen years unscathed by common teenage mistakes.

The technology was definitely limited in the 90's, especially where we were born and raised in Bacolod, Philippines. We reminisce on our experiences with the beta max, VHS, Tamaguchi, Brick Games, Nokia 5150, and more!
We also talk about the ways we spent our time when we were bored: prank calling boys and login on the chatrooms to ask for A/S/L's!
Although we love our technology now, we are all very grateful that we were not inundated with all the distractions back then! What would life have been in the 90's if we had social media? We share our thoughts.
Tell us about your experiences with the same or similar technology! Do you still have these devices?

Jose Marie Chan's Christmas songs are household must-haves during Christmas in all Filipino homes!
Street children carolers are also a great part of our Filipino Christmas culture.
Watch us "kill" these Christmas songs! LOL

Riding public transportation as a 3rd grader isn't really the safest idea but some of us had to learn how to find our way back home when our "service" leave us.
If you've ever wondered how public transportations work back in the Philippines, this video will give you the best idea as we tell you stories of how we learned how to ride the jeepney for the first time.
Tell us about your first time riding the jeepney! :) Did you get lost? Did you have money?
