On today's episode, David talks about his childhood traumatic event. Having to share this horrific experience with his parents and family brought him emotional pain, depression and anxiety. Feeling ashamed and confused while bottling up his emotion for years. Not until the loss of his son's mother, sparked up hidden pain during his adulthood. He talks about his use of drugs, alcohol, casual sex to help mask the pain. The ending of his marriage ignited the depression and anxiety. The pain was so bad, he attempted to take his life.
Now, he is thankful for years of therapy, counseling, and short term use of antidepressant. He encourages anyone going through pain, loss, depression any kind of suffering to reach out to your doctor or counseling center. Mental health is real and you are not alone!
