  • Failure is NOT Your Identity

We all know what it is like to make the wrong choice, say the wrong thing, disappoint someone, or realize that we have fallen short. But what happens after the failure? Do we hide? Make excuses? Blame someone else? Allow shame to define us? Or do we allow God's grace to restore us and move us forward?

In this episode of the All Consuming Grace Podcast, Paul and Rebecca Turner take an honest look at failure through the life of Peter. Peter boldly declared that he would never deny the Lord, yet when the moment came, he denied Him three times. Luke 22 shows us the depth of Peter's failure—but John 21 shows us that failure was not the end of his story.

Paul and Rebecca connect Peter's story with Romans 6, exploring what God's grace teaches us to do when we fail. Grace doesn't pretend that failure doesn't matter, but neither does it require us to make our failure our identity.

There is a difference between failing and being a failure.

Our failures can become opportunities for humility, growth, restoration, and a deeper dependence upon God's grace. Instead of allowing yesterday's failure to determine who we are today, we can acknowledge it, deal with it honestly, and move forward in the identity God has given us in Christ.

When you fail, what will you do?

Hide? Excuse? Blame? Or allow God's grace to restore you?

    Live in His all-consuming grace.

  • Who Am I When Nobody Else Is Around?

Who are you when nobody else is watching?

It is easy to make good choices when people are looking. We may say the right things, act the right way, and maintain the appearance of doing what is right. But what happens when there is no audience? What do we watch, what do we think about, what do we say, and what do we do when we are convinced that nobody will ever know?

In this episode of the All Consuming Grace Podcast, Paul and Rebecca Turner take a practical look at integrity through the story of Joseph in Genesis 39. Joseph found himself in a situation where he could have compromised without expecting anyone to find out. Yet his integrity wasn't dependent upon an audience. His choices were rooted in something much deeper.

Paul and Rebecca connect Joseph's example with the truth of Colossians 3:1–4 and 2 Corinthians 5:17. Our identity in Christ isn't something we put on when other people are around. We are new creatures. Our life is hid with Christ in God. That identity should affect every part of our lives—including the parts nobody else sees.

The private moments of our lives reveal what is really consuming us.

What do you do when you have the house to yourself? What fills your screen when nobody is looking? What thoughts do you entertain? How do you talk about people when they're not there? What choices do you make when there is no accountability and no possibility of recognition or consequences?

Victorious Christian living isn't about maintaining an image. It is about allowing who we are in Christ to become the reality of how we live—both publicly and privately.

Who are you when nobody else is around?

And perhaps even more importantly: Does the person you are in private match the person everyone sees in public?

  • Bear His Burden, But Let Him Carry His Load

What does it mean to bear one another's burdens while also recognizing that every man must bear his own burden?

In this follow-up episode of the All Consuming Grace Podcast, Paul and Rebecca Turner continue their conversation about walking in the Spirit, restoring one another, and living in healthy relationships. This time, they take a closer look at the seemingly opposite instructions Paul gives us in Galatians 6:2 and Galatians 6:5: “Bear ye one another's burdens” and “every man shall bear his own burden.”

    How can both be true?

When a brother or sister is overtaken in a fault, grace doesn't leave us standing on the sidelines. We can have compassion. We can come alongside them. We can help carry the weight of what they are going through. We can encourage, pray, speak truth, and walk with them toward restoration.

But there is a line we cannot cross.

Sometimes in our desire to help someone, we begin carrying what God never intended us to carry. We take responsibility for their choices, their consequences, or their spiritual growth. In doing so, we may actually prevent God from using those consequences and responsibilities to grow them.

There is a delicate balance between bearing someone's burden and paying their invoice for them.

Grace doesn't mean removing every consequence. Love doesn't mean rescuing someone from every difficult circumstance. And helping someone doesn't mean taking responsibility for what God has given them to carry.

When we learn to find that balance, something beautiful can happen: God can grow them—and God can grow us.

We learn compassion without enabling. We learn to help without taking over. We learn to speak truth without condemnation. And we learn to trust God enough to allow another believer to take responsibility for their own walk with Him.

Sometimes the most loving thing we can do is carry the burden with someone.

Sometimes the most loving thing we can do is let them carry what belongs to them.

Living in His all-consuming grace means learning the difference.

  • Healthy Relationships, Hard Conversations, Real Restoration

What does it really look like to walk in the Spirit—and what happens when one of us finds ourselves walking in the flesh?

In this episode of the All Consuming Grace Podcast, Paul and Rebecca Turner begin in Galatians 5 and challenge us to examine the way we are walking. The Christian life isn't simply about what we believe; it is about allowing the Spirit of God to produce His fruit in our everyday lives. The battle between walking in the Spirit and walking in the flesh affects our marriages, families, friendships, churches, and every other relationship we have.

But what happens when someone we love gets caught up in the flesh?

Paul and Rebecca turn the conversation toward Galatians 6 and the responsibility we have to bear one another's burdens. Those who are spiritual are called to restore those who have been overtaken in a fault—and that restoration requires more than simply pointing out what someone is doing wrong. It requires grace, humility, love, truth, and a genuine desire to help someone get back on the right path.

That brings us to something we often overlook: healthy relationships matter.

If we want to have the difficult conversations that can lead to restoration, we need relationships built on trust, honesty, love, and grace. People are far more willing to hear hard truth from someone who has demonstrated that they genuinely care about them. Healthy relationships create the environment where difficult conversations don't have to destroy relationships—they can actually strengthen them and become part of God's work of restoration.

Whether it is a spouse, child, friend, fellow believer, or someone in your church, there will be times when we need to help carry someone else's burden. There will also be times when we need someone else to help carry ours.

The question is not whether we will need one another. The question is whether we are walking in the Spirit and building the kind of relationships where grace and truth can bring restoration.

Walk in the Spirit. Bear one another's burdens. Restore with grace.

    Live in His all-consuming grace.

  • When Victory Becomes Everyday Life

We know that we have victory in Christ—but what does that victory actually look like on an ordinary Tuesday morning?

In Part 2 of our series on living victoriously, Paul and Rebecca Turner get into the nuts and bolts of what it means to actually LIVE the victorious life God has provided for us. Victorious living begins with a mental shift: recognizing who we are in Christ and understanding that our identity and our victory are not determined by what happens to us in this life.

That changes the way we face difficult circumstances, disappointments, temptation, conflict, failure, and even the ordinary frustrations of everyday life.

But recognizing our victory is only the beginning. Scripture calls us to make choices—to put to death those things that belong to the old life and to live according to the identity God has given us in Christ. We don't have to be controlled by old habits, old thinking, fear, anger, bitterness, insecurity, or the opinions of others. We can choose to live out the victory we already have.

God doesn't simply want us to know that we are victorious someday. He wants us to live in the victory He has provided today.

And why? Because He loves us, and victorious living brings glory to Him.

What would change if you began looking at your job, your marriage, your family, your struggles, your relationships, your failures, and your everyday decisions through the reality that you are already victorious in Christ?

Victorious living isn't about pretending that life is easy. It's about living with the confidence that whatever happens in this life cannot change who you are in Christ or take away the victory He has already given you.

So make the mental shift. Make the choice. Put to death what needs to die. Live in loyalty to the One who gave you the victory.

Don't just know that you have the victory. Live it.

    Live in His all-consuming grace.

  • Victory Before Eternity

In this episode of the All Consuming Grace Podcast, Paul and Rebecca Turner talk about a truth we sometimes need to be reminded of: we are already victorious in Christ.

Salvation is so much more than simply being saved from Hell. Through the finished work of Jesus Christ, we have been given a new position, a new identity, and a victory that is already ours. One day we will spend eternity with God, but we don't have to wait until eternity to experience the reality of what Christ has accomplished for us.

Satan is still active. He fights what can feel like a relentless guerrilla war, seeking to discourage, distract, deceive, and defeat believers. But there is an important truth we must never forget: the enemy has already been defeated. He has been dethroned.

Paul and Rebecca explore what it means to live today with the confidence that Christ has already won the decisive victory. The battle may still be raging, but the outcome is not in doubt.

Sometimes we simply need to stop looking at the enemy and start looking again at the Victor.

We aren't fighting for victory—we are living from the victory Christ has already won.

Join Paul and Rebecca as they remind us that the grace of God doesn't merely save us for eternity; it teaches us how to live victoriously right now.

    Live in His all-consuming grace.
