All in a Day/ NEO24 Ultra

Listen Later

The NEO24 is a fixed timed 24 hour race in Brunswick, Ohio. In this race, 12 people reached the 100 mile mark. Pete Kostelnick, who used to live in Brunswick ran 121 miles just 13 months after sustaining a fractured pelvis in a car crash. He has 3 big screws in his body..was in a wheel chair for 2 months and couldn’t run for 6 months. Kostelnick is a two time winner of Badwater 135 and owns the transcon record of just 42 days. He’s just one of the stories…. Ed “ Jester” Ettinghausen was running in his 300th, 100 mile race. You read that right. How he came to running these races was born out of the real estate crash in 08. I also interview woman’s overall winner Gina Snyderburn, and Mike Melton, the timing guy who does these events more than 40 weekends a year. Shout out to Race Director Larry Orwin.
