When inclusion is discussed, we often hear how it benefits the student with the identified disability or with the IEP. In reality, inclusive practices benefit all students, educators, families, and even the community. The phrase "we've always done it this way" can negatively impact these stakeholders, but continues to be common practice in many classrooms and schools. As you listen, think about how you've been impacted by inclusive practices, how you can impact students through inclusive practices, and how you can hold conversations with community members who may be apprehensive about changing the status quo.
