As Christians, we can often be very casual in our attitude towards disobedience. When God puts a conviction in us and reveals His will for our lives, we can be tempted to think we can simply ignore it or choose whether to obey or not. Yet the word of God tells us that the follower of Christ is a servant of righteousness, and that disobedience is a grave and serious offence to God. If un-dealt with, disobedience can also have serious consequences, such as pain and suffering, and lead to further sin, distorted judgement and discernment, a fractured prayer life, and ultimately reveal a heart of unbelief.

If we are in disobedience, we shouldn't ignore it, try to cover it up with good works, or twist Scripture to soothe our conscience. We must simply repent from sin and surrender whatever is keeping us from being close to God. Only then can we experience the fullness of the blessings and peace and freedom and power that comes from walking in obedience with our Lord. [Speaker CJ]

What keeps some of God's people wandering in the wilderness instead of entering the rest He has promised? Disobedience, fear, and never truly leaving the world behind are the things that hold us back. At their core, these all stem from unbelief - a failure to trust in God's faithfulness and to believe that His plans are good for us. If we truly believed that Christ is our greatest treasure, wholehearted surrender would not feel like losing everything. Instead, we would realise we have everything to gain. [Speaker: Ben]

The concept of heaven is spiritual and hard to grasp, however the Bible gives us glimpses of what it will be like. We will experience eternal characteristics like the worship of God and everlasting joy in heaven, and our fleshly, sinful body along with our anxieties, fear and suffering will be gone.

Do you know the way to heaven? No one can come to the Father except through Jesus. By trusting His way, following His life and living in His truth, we can enter His eternal Kingdom. Continue to be humble and teachable. He who overcomes will inherit all things. [Speaker: Harb]

There are two eternal destinies: eternal life with God or eternal punishment without Him. We can't believe in good, but not evil, or in a heaven and not a hell. Jesus spoke seriously about hell, warning us to examine anything in our lives that keeps us from fully following Him. Entering God’s Kingdom is not about outward good works, but about genuine faith and fellowship with the Father that transforms the heart and produces a life that always seeks to please Him. What does it mean to call Jesus “Lord”? While we as believers confess that Jesus is Lord, is He is actually the Lord of our lives?

This message examines the biblical meaning of lordship, and reminds us that every life is governed by one master - either sin, or the Lord Jesus Christ. We are urged then to consider whether our lives actually come under the Lordship of Jesus Christ, being slaves to righteousness and doing the will of the Father no matter the cost, or whether sin and unbelief still hold the throne in our lives. King Nebuchadnezzar's pride led him to build a golden image to be worshipped. When Daniel's friends refused to bow down to the image, they instead stood firm in the midst of adversity, and clung to all the things God had promised them. They trusted that if God was for them, no one could be against them. We do not need to give in to the pride of this world. As we relinquish control and lay down our lives before God, we will experience His victory and joy. [Speaker: Barry]

Daniel shows us how we can be the people God wants us to be, without being impacted by what others think or expect of us. When our identity is rooted in God, we are truly free. If we genuinely believe that God will enable us to do whatever He has called us to, we will experience a peace that washes away all unnecessary worries. God provides for both our earthly needs and the wellbeing of our soul so we can become Kingdom people. Though our minds may race with concerns, God calls us to trust Him, rest in His presence, and remember who He is - our loving Father who knows our needs and faithfully cares for us. Sometimes we can forget that we are constantly under the care of our Heavenly Father, and we become anxious, allowing our concerns to grow out of proportion. The remedy for worry is choosing to trust the Lord in every situation in our lives We cannot have true peace or grow as believers unless we are willing to fully trust in Him. [Speaker: Barry]

We need to understand what surrender truly is, so that we’re not deceived. It’s not just what we say - our lips can be close to Jesus while our hearts are far from Him. Nor is it what we know - we can understand the Bible well and still not live surrendered lives. Surrender is shown in what we do, especially in how we treat and love others, even those who are difficult. It means being doers of the Word, not just hearers. When our relationship with Jesus is right, surrender comes naturally - the two cannot be separated. [Speaker: Barry]
