Jonathan took a challenge and was brave in standing up for his faith. He trusted God when all the odds were against him and seemed impossible. He remembered the supernatural work of God and didn't look for reassurance or a "Word" from God...to act.

We as Christians are to be the representatives of God so we must look to Christ, our perfect example. Forsake all & follow Him, Christ be glorified.

Jacob was realizing he lost control of his family.His sons were unrepentant after their evil deeds; daughter was rebellious; no spiritual leadership. Jacob was told to go back to the first place he met God=Bethel v3. Remember the love felt in your heart; remember the Glory that flooded your soul; remember His faithfulness in your life. Purify=cleanse yourself through the Word of God
