Tune into this episode to learn about the vital funders and partners who enable All Peoples Community Center to provide "Real Solutions, Real Heart, and Real Service" in South LA. All Peoples is grateful for the support of corporate sponsors, foundations, and individual donors, who allow them to offer a myriad of social and educational services to over 6,600 people annually. Their financial support is crucial, contributing to the total public and private funds obtained, which totaled over $10.5 million over three fiscal years (2021-2023).
A cornerstone partnership is with the City of Los Angeles. All Peoples is one of the city's 16 designated FamilySource Centers, a role they officially took on in 2016. This designation came with city funding that doubled their annual revenue and fueled significant programmatic growth. As a FamilySource Center, they focus on the TwoGeneration model, providing integrated services to help families increase income and academic achievement. For instance, through the city-funded Angeleno Card program, All Peoples FamilySource Staff helped distribute over $2 million in aid, serving 2,231 families. They also facilitated the city-funded rental assistance program, United to House Los Angeles (ULA), aiding families with $135,576.91 in rental assistance as of December 21, 2023.
Collaborations with other organizations significantly extend their reach and impact. For example, in partnership with Coalition for Responsible Community Development (CRCD), All Peoples hosts a WorkSource Center that provides employment placement and training to 100 adults annually. As a partner agency of the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, they play a crucial role in addressing food insecurity. Recent partnerships with Angel City Football Club (ACFC) and DoorDash have been particularly impactful, with their financial support contributing to the distribution of a staggering 1,068,900 meals. These partners also sponsored events like the Thanksgiving Community Dinner, providing meals to 865 community members and distributing 278 turkeys in 2023.
Other notable partnerships and their contributions include:
• The National Basketball Players Association (NBPA) Foundation and the LA84 Foundation, who awarded a $25,000 grant to refurbish the community center basketball court.
• The California Community Foundation, which funded Disaster Preparedness Education Workshops where 200 disaster supply kits and 10,000 neighborhood evacuation maps were distributed.
• Partnerships with St. Johns Well Child Center and the L.A. County Health Department for mobile vaccination clinics, providing 97 vaccinations to the community and outreach to over 750 people.
• Collaboration with Councilman and the City of Los Angeles Community Investment for Families Department to open and run the Trinity Neighborhood Center, bringing additional services to a community affected by a fireworks explosion.
• A partnership with Para Los Niños in the First 5 LA’s Best Start initiative, which supplements the food supply for 89 families.
Furthermore, foundations like the Ballmer Group, The Ralph M. Parsons Foundation, and The Rose Hills Foundation supported All Peoples' participation in The Bridgespan Group’s Leading for Impact® program, helping strengthen organizational performance. The completion of major ADA improvement projects was also made possible by the generous support of foundations, corporations, individual donors, and volunteers.
