This Sunday, following Easter we read from John as Jesus appears to his disciples and a doubting Thomas.

This is where Jesus comes. The risen Christ does not wait for courage or faith to appear.

Jesus presence is not stopped by fear or failure.

Jesus meets us - not at our strongest, but at our most fragile.

The invitation for us is lift up our head and see Jesus is right there.

We read this Palm Sunday from Matthew the story of Jesus' entry to Jerusalem, and we are encourage to pause and reflect; How do we chose the path of servitude and what do we do when Jesus doesn't give us what we want?

Some questions for us to ponder this Sunday:

When Jesus does not become the kind of Messiah they want, praise turns to rejection.

Do we worship God for who He is, or for what we hope He will do?

What happens to our faith when God doesn't meet our expectations?

We continue our Lenten season, a time where we go without to prepare out hearts for something spectacular.

We read again from John the Death of Lazarus - and here the questions is - why didn't Jesus do something?

If there is a God that is good, why do bad things happen?

This is a story of redemption, while there is still suffering - this is the story of God bringing new life - this is the story of Lazarus - Jesus who can raise Lazarus form the dead - can raise us and transform our society - we are invited to ask the Holy Spirit of God to be at work within us, transforming us.

We all come with pre-conceptions, how we see the world and that can come sometimes make us blind to a spiritual reality, God's reality at work in the world.

We ask ourselves today - are we missing the miracle because of all the things that cloud our judgement - how do we not miss what Jesus is calling us to do?

We read today from John as Jesus heals a man born blind and the invitation we find here is to become people who can see and who are not blind - by relentlessly studying the real thing, Jesus.

We are in the Lenten Season - a time when we are called to embrace the darkness, as a necessary preparation for the light.

If there is one thing you take away today - it's this incredible promise God loves the world so much that he became human so that we can be saved through him - death, resurrection, promise of new life - this is why we gather, this is why we celebrate, this is the way God loves us.

As we approach lent, we are encouraged to think of what is it that we might need to give up? What we might need to start doing - to differentiate ourselves from this world of lust and exploitation.

How are we being different from the world being Christian?

The challenge for all of us here is to see everyone as made in the image of God. To learn to change our thinking about other people.
