We naturally hold on to our mother's breast for nourishment and life. "Holding on for dear life" is a term of both desperation and strength. Letting go on the other hand is in sometimes considered a weakness and even for some, a sin. But there comes a time when letting go can actually save your life. Letting go is often a more rewarding discipline than hanging on. In this day of ongoing change and evolution, we must all learn the art, discipline and science of letting go. If you can, you may find you're finally able to fully receive what you're already being given, and for that matter, finally able to fully give what you're capable of giving to others. "Where does human agency come into that equation?!" said early Unitarians. And yet, nowadays, here at All Souls, we tell EVERYBODY that they're included in God's love. Or, in other words, we tell everyone that they're already saved! But then… what role does our human agency play in that?! Instead of engaging with the age old debate - are we saved by faith alone or by works alone, let's make it personal. What is saving YOU, right now?
