This week Catherine teaches from Psalm 16, exploring the biblical promise of joy, and how we can cultivate a life of joy. 

Globally, 2024 is a massive year for politics. More voters than ever have, or will, head to the polls in at least 64 countries (representing 49% of the world’s population). Politics is one of the biggest cultural forces shaping our world and forming our lives, for better or worse. How can followers of Jesus think faithfully about politics, and engage distinctively amid division and distrust? Can we disagree well? If so, how? This seminar is for anyone curious about how our identity as disciples can shape our political involvement from a place of hope and humility. It will include time for discussion and reflections.

Is singleness really considered less valuable than marriage within the church community? Does the church place too much emphasis on marriage and family at the expense of supporting single individuals? Or are we at risk of swinging the pendulum too far in the opposite direction, leaving Christian couples and parents out in the cold? Join Natalie Powell as she explores the gifts of singleness and marriage in the Bible, the cultural influences that have impacted our understanding of them, and why it’s vital that we a–irm them both in our church today.

When was the last time your body spoke to you? What did it say? Did you listen? Life is a tricky balance and our relationship with our body is often out of balance. Either we are obsessed with the body or we have a tendency to overlook it. How do we learn to listen to the voice of truth and therefore the voice of God speaking to us through our bodies? This is the question we will explore together. The seminar is a workshop where we will hear, reflect and exercise.

This week, Natalie wraps up our series in the Gospel of Luke at the Central Service by focusing on the 40 day period between Jesus' resurrection and ascension. How does Jesus use this time to prepare his disciples for the next chapter ahead, and how can we embody the same courage and conviction as the church today.

This week, Danny looks at how the Ascension of Jesus shapes the way we encounter God’s presence today, and engage with his mission in the world.

This week, Jonathan looks at Jesus’ journey to Emmaus with two disciples after his resurrection. We explore how Jesus travels with his disciples through their disillusion and despair, and directs them on a different course of hope and salvation through his resurrected life.

In this talk, Helen explores the redemptive work of the crucifixion, and how to let the blood of Jesus speak to our battles, sufferings, and pain in order to walk in victory.
